The Reno airport is surrounded by office parks, residential areas, and vast swaths of parkland. Many who land here quickly depart to California and Lake Tahoe for summer boating and winter skiing. "Super comfy beds"
I usually have trouble sleeping in unfamiliar beds away from home but have found the beds at Grand Sierra (Summit Tower) extremely comfortable with good quality bedding. The rooms are nicely appointed but the bathrooms are very dark.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

If you like baths must have a room below the 17th floor, those are the rooms that haven't been remodeled and they are not very clean and smell. Suites are nice but not worth the extra money as they are not much bigger. Maintenance doesn't respond quickly as we had no ac in the room and a cabinet door that was broken and it kept falling down as well […] as a leaky faucet. This is a wonderful place to stay if you are traveling with pets. You are really made to feel that they welcome them and they have done everything they can to show it. "Maybe Next Time"
While I believe there is a future with this hotel, our experience was less than desirable. The hotel apparently is going through a remodel. A friend who booked after us recieved a remodeled room, while we were given one of the old rooms, and there is a HUGE difference. Very noisy, but probably due to the fact that it was spring break and lots of skiing […] still to be had around Reno/Tahoe area. Choice of food and drink was fantastic. "Very disappointed family stay"
I chose the hotel to take my kids for spring break. We were expecting the amenities that were advertised on their website. The kids were looking forward to the bungee jumping, miniature golf, and go kart racing. All of those were closed along with the swimming pool. The only thing they do have is the bowling alley. The movie theatre cost only $3 but […] they are all movies that are out on dvd already. The shopping center was a ghost town. In the two nights and 3 days we stayed only one of the stores was open, the rest were closed and dark. The kids arcade center was also disappointing. Half the machines in the arcade said out of order. I was hoping to stay at the "resort" so that we would not have to go anywhere. We had to go to Peppermill and Atlantis in order to find arcades for the kids to play at. The rooms were ok. A Grand Suite II in the Summit Towers was just a room. It wasn't a suite, but according to other people who have stayed there, it is a remodeled room since I did have a flat panel tv. I went with two 18 year olds and an 8 year old....it was an overnight stay after enjoying the last of the snow, the kids had a BLAST. We didn't have to leave the hotel at all! Stayed here for one night with my two teenage sons after skiing in Lake Tahoe and had early flights. The staff was wonderful. Charlie Palmer's steakhouse was out of this world. The bowling alley and movie theater made entertainment very convenient. The hotel was very clean all around.
