"Loved the stream outside the back door."

"Surrounded by mountains"
I will certainly try to stay at Brookside on our next visit to Gatlinburg. The stream is most enjoyable and relaxing. If exercise is your thing which is important to me, you can certainly get a cardiac workout no matter which direction that you go. My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this hotel and keep telling everyone how wonderful everything was. It was clean and beautiful. The service was great, the maids were there everyday, the office workers were helpful when we had questions and made us feel at home. Very outdated, though they apparently are in the process of updating their rooms so this review may only apply to a portion of the rooms. Our room was straight out of the 50's with a hint of a 70's update. None of the bath features (steam, whirlpool) worked and the shower head produced a super loud whine that hurt your ears and made your showers very […] quick.....maybe it was a water saving feature. We were moved upon check-in because of concern of being in a room where pets had been with my allergies but was put in a room that smelled like stale cigarettes. We left the window open to hear the creek the whole visit so it aired out quite a bit. Having the sound and the view of the creek far out weighed the stale odor. My family really enjoyed our stay. Felt very at home, the hotel is an older hotel, but clean. Staff is very friendly. Surroundings have the feel of being in a cabin by the creek in a wooded area.
