The Lodge at Buckberry Creek

The place was very clean and uniquely decoured in a lodge style with a class. Very comfortable and great atmosphere, I prefer 10 times more than the usual chain hotels. One is […] the hot water. There was a jagzee in the room but I could not fill up enough hot water in it because after a while it got nukewarm (I could take a pleasant bath in the end though). Second is the service in the restaurant. Their restaurant is also great but often there were no wait people in the hall for long time, we had to wait for refills, and the food seemed took time to serve also. We were looking for a brief hiatus from the hectic pace. Buckberry Lodge was a perfect one night stop off for us. We arrived early and the staff made us comfortable to enjoy the facilities until our room was ready. The staff was super. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a quite location in the Smokies. We'll be going back.

Beautiful place but not within walking distance of Gatlinburg. We loved it. Lovely rooms with a balcony, kitchen, whirlpool tub, hiking trails, a restaurant and peace and quiet. We were on the first floor but next time I will request a second floor room for a little better view. We will definately come back.

The hotel as a whole was great. Views were amazing, 5 minute drive to the strip. Hiking trail to the river on the property is awesome. Staff was great. Quiet and safe location. internet in room was strong. Will 100% return next year. Things to be improved upon in my opinion are: - TV in rooms needs to be a flat screen, mount it over the fireplace..... - Pool appears to be under construction, would have been nice if it was complete. - The free breakfast isn't so good. The view in this place is beautiful. It is way in the mountains. The cabins are cozy and clean. And the main reception building is very nice. I found it a little overpriced for the services provided in the hotel. After certain time, it is hard to get in contact with the front desk. This was a wonderful place away from all the craziness of Gatlinburg!! Wow did not know it was that commercial. The mountains and hotel was really very nice just amazing the views, we had a bottom floor room and the view was some what blocked but it was still very pretty, the room was very well kept and clean!! It was a girls get out of town weekend […] and could not have asked for more we hiked and road down river, and then we could come back to the tranquility of the Lodge in the evening and just relax!! Great retreat for long time married couples needing some time together without distractions. If you check in on a Sunday afternoon, you have the place to yourself until Wednesday-Thursday. Relaxing and quiet. Bring a book and leave the electronics at home.

The rooms were intentionally designed to be "old-style". I would prefer more modern fixtures, more lighting, and more comfortable deck chairs. Nevertheless, hotel was more than adequate with great views, nice continental breakfast, and friendly staff.

Hotel was as advertised. There was not a TV in Bedroom, which was ok. Couch had stains on cushion, but overall, it was ok.

Gatlinburg: beautiful, but battered and a bit tired. Buckberry beat that trend, we loved it, it was everything and more than we expected. There were a few problems with our suite, but everything was fixed instantly with apologies and no fuss. The restaurant had that wow factor - as did the suite and the views. It was worth every penny! My only mild […] grump - we stayed in 7 hotels on our road trip, and the other 6 did something nice for us, as we were on our honeymoon after getting married in Gatlinburg. Buckberry was the only one that didn't, not even a complimentary glass of wine at our wedding dinner. I guess they were miffed we didn't get married on their premises and pay them for it. Oh well, if the worst thing is that nothing was for free, you can't complain too much. If you can afford this place, the chances are you won't want any of the cheaper places on offer. You get the luxury that you pay for here. Warm, beautiful, bug-free, not too grubby, fantastic food on site. We will be back. Read more
