We were very disappointed with our stay at Days Inn in Gatlinburg TN. The first night we stayed was ok. We got up the next morning and we didn't have any hot water to bathe. A maintenance man came and checked our water and said he didn't understand why we didn't have any hot water....the other guests did. He said he would check something and he left […] the room. After waiting quite a while we called the desk. She advised us that she didn't understand either...all other rooms had it. We stated that we needed to have hot water. She said we could go to another room just to shower. We then had to ask to be moved to another room which was called an "upgrade" The new room we were put in was bigger and had a hot tub and a fireplace. The fireplace hadn't been cleaned from the last guest, the hot tub was dirty, there was a 1 inch gap at the bottom of the door (allowing cold air in and heater running full blast) the shower only had warm (not Hot) water and the toliet was leaking and we had to put towels behind it to keep water from running into bedroom. We travel frequently and have stayed in many Days Inn Motels and have always found then to be clean and enjoyable. This is one reason we pick a chain motel. I assume each motel is indepently owned and operated. This owner may need to make repairs to deserve to operate under the Days Inn name (in this woman's opinion). on a lighter note the room had a great TV and the bed was very comfortable. Thank you. "close to downtown"
For the price, the hotel was very dated. Not a lot of repairs had been done. It was fairly clean but carpet was coming lose on the side of the walls and bathroom door got stuck on the loose carpet. The smoke alarm was not working and about to fall out of ceiling. One of the electrical outlets did not have a cover. We had a group of 7 people and the room was a good fit. The room we had was the suite (1 King/1Queen). We paid less than how much it would cost us to get 2 hotel rooms anywhere else. It is on the far end of the main strip so it is not really walking distance to the attractions. It is close to 5-6 different restaurants. The beds were comfortable. The AC worked good.
