I was intrigued by the architecture and quality of this historical building. All of the employees were professional and polite. I would definately stay there again. I was a little bothered by the fact that my suite didn't have a refrigerator or microwave, but it wasn't a deal breaker. The MAC was great for what I used it for which was to go to a baseball game. Only 10 min walk to Bush. It is right accross the street from Edward Jones if you want to go to a rams game. Very nice and elegant. It is a club and they have members but they do rent out the rooms to guests.

This was a unique place, the staff was awesome, the room was nice. The only problem was the noise from the street below at night as the hotel sits on a very busy street and we were on the 9th floor.

The staff was friendly upon arrival and the lobby was well kept. The room was really big, but super dated and quite dirty. The tv was tiny (maybe a 21" screen??). Air conditioning system was sub par and difficult to figure out, as the dials were probably 50+ years old. Bathroom was small, dirty, and old. Good location in heart of downtown. Front desk gentleman was very nice and accomodating, as I arrived about 1am. But he worked hard to make me feel welcome. Historical building with awesome memorabilia in a beautiful lobby. Hallways make it look like an apartment building. Smelled like smoke in the hallways, a big negative. But upon entry of my 8th […] floor room, nice and quaint, though small. Great view of the Arch. Positives: old style, with floor grill heater, bottle opener on wall in bathroom, small but great shower, updated faucets, step-up into bathroom, industrial style toilet, good TV, comfy bed. Negatives: cheap curtains that fell off the rod, noise from the street, old bathroom cabinets, lack of paint on parts of the walls, space for clothes, no electrical outlet in bathroom, which caused me to find an outlet in the bedroom to use the hair dryer. Overall, a pretty good stay, I would stay again here if the price is right and it was only for a night, or two at the most. But the rooms need some work. It's an old building and it looks it. My selection of the Missouri Athletic Club as a hotel was based solely on price and location. Boy, what a treat! Everyone was friendly, the services were unbelievable. A historic treasure in downtown St. Louis, walking distance from Busch Stadium, the Gateway Arch, and the Landing area.

The MAC was an amazing finding. The best part is the infrastructure around here: full gym with Olympic-size pool, basketball court, golf simulator, sauna, two restaurants, including a cigar/sports bar with a great selection.
