The Palmetto Cafe
A garden like setting framed by palms in dramatic planters, sumptuous fabrics in summer colors and an adjoining courtyard. Located on the main floor of the Charleston Place Hotel, the restaurant features innovative American cuisine using only the freshest local ingredients. This casual, yet elegant restaurant overlooks a lush courtyard complete with circular bronze fountain and impeccably kept gardens. Saturday and Sunday Brunch should not be missed with gourmet omelets, eggs benedicts, apple wood smoked bacon, stone ground grits, house made caramel brioche, fresh fruit and pastries.
The Thoroughbred Club
Open 11am until midnight, seven days a week. Conveniently located adjacent to the grand staircase, the Thoroughbred Club serves afternoon tea, cocktails, tapas/appetizers, desserts and features live music daily.

"Superb Hotel - highly recommended"
Everything was excellen - the room, the service, Internet access, location near all the sights in the downtown area, soft beds, etc. The exercise room was well equipped, but perhaps a little cramped, but easy to get to and a friendly atmosphere. I was suprised at a hotel of this quality and price that dogs were allowed in the rooms. We had a dog in the adjoining room that barked every time we went in or out of the room and at other times. We had stains on the shower curtain next to the toilet, stains on our sheets, stains on our comforter and a nasty stain on the ceiling. Front desk was very rude and used the word "yeah" for all of her yes's. Not at all what I expected and will not stay here again. The hotel is likely the nicest in town (at least from what we saw. We had a little yorkie with us and everyone was very dog-friendly. We didn't eat at the restaurants but heard they were very good. While our stay was pleasant enough, their staff could take a lesson from other luxury properties in friendliness and service features. A maid cart stayed outside our room most the time between 7:30am - 4:30pm - a nuisance. The noise of the cart started very early. In finer hotels, one barely notices the carts as they keep them out of sight. No complimentary […] in-room coffee or coffee in the lobby. You must buy coffee from a very grumpy young gal.
