"Great location!!!"
Everyone was very friendly, courteous, helpful, and professional. The location was outstanding. We only had to walk 1 block for excellent dining. The room was smaller than I expected. We would stay there again and will recommend it to friends and family.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location"
This hotel is exactly where you want to be in historic Charleston. You are walking distance to everywhere and the free shuttle goes right by the hotel's front door. The hotel staff was cheerful & accomodating. When we were given a queen bed room after reserving a king bed room we were given a king bed suite after the first night. The king bed was amazing […] - we needed a step stool to climb onto the mattress! The suite itself was a bit dated (think 80's gold trim fixtures) but we were so happy with all the space as well as the bed itself the decor was not an issue for us. Finally, the 9pm cookies and milk snack was a great touch -the cookies were delicious. All in all, if you like quirky historical hotels then the Vendue Inn is for you. "Great Location and Great Customer Service"
Location A++++ Customer Service was excellent! Historic hotel so don't expect bright, shiny and new. Hotel has alot of character. Complementary milk and cookies in the evening, coffee in the am and refreshing citrus waters during the day. Room was comfortable and clean. Great restaurants just around the corner, waterfront park just down the street. […] Will definitely return to this hotel for another stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charleston visit"
I would definitely recommend the Vendue Inn. Perfect historic downtown location, walking distance to everything... Roof top bar fun for a drink, a breeze, and info on the city. Morning breakfast was yummy (breakfast potatoes need some help). King bed room was roomy. We overlooked other buildings but it was fine. Would stay here again on our next tr […] ip! Location couldn't be better. Service staff is excellent. Condition of hotel is another issue ... Getting pretty tired. Hair dryer missing in one room, in the other the shower faucet wasn't working correctly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Vendue Inn in September"
My wife and I stayed in a Kingbed Junior Suite in the Vendue Inn in early September 2011 for four nights. We had a great stay for a number of reasons. The hotel location is ideal for visiting Charleston's historic area. Located in the "French Quarter", the free tourist trolley stops less than half a block from the hotel. We also were able to walk throughout […] Charleston easily; the area appears safe and is well-travelled by pedestrians even late at night. A beautiful "Waterfront Park" is less than a block away and numerous restaurants are close by. The hotel's rooftop bar was a great place to unwind, observe the city, and have a few drinks and appetizers. The amount charged was very reasonable and includes cooked breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. All staff we encountered were friendly and accomodating. The room itself, which was across the street from the main hotel in the Vendue Suites building, did not have a window but it did have a skylight. We considered changing out of the room for another at check-in but decided to stay since we knew we would not be spending a great deal of time in the room. In hindsight, we probably woul have enjoyed a room with a window, evne if the room size and bed were smaller. If one has any claustrophobia, even though the room was large the lack of a window may be problematic so check when booking. Coffee and tea were served each morning if one opted to skip the breakfast, and the evening cookies and wine reception were also a plus. The hotel does go out of its way to make stays there comfortable. All in all, a great place to stay when visiting Charleston. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location"
Had the best service of any hotel. Free full breakfast, wine and cheese, milk and cookies and use of bicycles. The staff treats you like royalty. Remember this is a very old hotel, rooms are small and on the old side. But very clean, comfortable bed and great shower. Will tell everyone about this stay and will be back. Forgot to tell you about the roof […] top bar. The best sunsets and great atmosphere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great service"
This place was fantastic. We went on a big road trip and stayed in 6 different hotels and inns over 10 days and this was the best!! The service was spectacular. They had wine and cheese in the afternoon and milk and cookies later on. The breakfast that was included was also great! The location was perfect, right next to the water! Great views! "Vendue Inn"
The Vendue Inn is at a perfect location in downtown Charleston. Within walking distance to the Street Market, the Battery, dozens of restaurants and beautiful mansions. The Inn has lots of character and the service is second to none. The staff is very friendly and willing to help in any way. Be sure to be in the lobby at 9:00pm each night for the […] milk and cookies. It is a really nice thing they do for the guests. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The Vendue Inn - perfect in every way"
From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were treated warmly and respectfully, and each and every one of the employees called us by name during our entire stay. The rooms were luxurious and filled with beautiful antiques that were not too "precious" to feel comfortable. The staff bent over backwards to help us find appropriate things to do in […] Charleston (a walking city) with our daughter on crutches. The breakfast was delicious, as was the wine in the afternoon and the cookies before bed. My favorite touch (who knew) were the individually wrapped moist towels soaked in ice water in a beautiful glass carafe for relief from the South Carolina sun in the afternoon. Accompanied by the chilled fruit water it was my favorite ahhhh moment after our days adventures. We will definitely be returning to this gem of an inn again in the near future. There is so much to do and see in Charleston, we already have our list of things to do and places to see, but Vendue Inn, be expecting us back. Thanks Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dog friendly but..."
This hotel is dog friendly (as long as you pay a $50.00 non refundable fee) but if you're traveling with your dog you can expect a room near all the other dog owners. Which would be fine if they were all courteous but we were awoken at 8am by a dog barking that was presumably left alone in the room. Also, the "dog rooms" are not as nice as what we have […] stayed in before. It's a little hard not to feel as though you're being shafted by politely calling ahead and letting them know in advance that you're bringing your dog. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel Vendue - Exactly What We Expected"
We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at the Hotel Vendue. I had done extensive research about hotels in Historic Charleston. It was exactly as the reviews indicated; we were not disappointed. The room was comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was excellent. One recommendation - Inform guests if their room is adjacent to the elevator. I did not […] request another room at check-in. However, if I was aware of the location, I would have done so. I am a light sleeper and the sound of the elevator normally keeps me awake. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
