"ok place to stay for a one night stop"
There is some renovation going on so the hallways looked kind of beat up. The staff was friendly and helpful with simple directions for getting around town. "A great stay - just a little far from downtown."
My friends and I really liked this hotel. It was very clean and modern, and the rooms are large. The staff also is great - very friendly and extremely helpful. Excellent room and the location of the Hotel was nice since we needed to drive to the French Quarter so only a few minutes away. The local area is close to everything and would highly recommend this hotel to others. The room was a good size of course the bed was very comfortable. Not good at all ! Both the rooms were not cleaned during our 2 night stay.The staff at breakfast place for which we bough vouchers was miserable and cold. Made the eating breakfast a nightmare. This facility has been remodeled and the rooms are very nice. No complaints with the hotel EXCEPT that the woman who was the night clerk set us up with a Yellow Cab for us to share with another couple going to the port the next morning and we were to split the $26.00 fee. When we arrived at the port, the cab driver made us BOTH pay $26.00 for ONE way. […] A complete rip-off. We traveled appox 4 miles for $52.00. I can only assume that the clerk is being paid to book rides with this clown. His name is Charles and he drives a Yellow suburban. NEVER use the Yellow Cabs! "Not too shabby, would stay again."
Stayed in a non smoking room with a king size bed. Pros: Refrigerator was a decent size. Bed was comfortable, flat screen LED probably around a 32'' TV. Only thing I didn't care for was the bathroom was a little small. The door to the toilet and shower had about a half an inch space between the edge and the toilet seat. Also had very nice heating/air […] conditioning, including a digital wall thermostat. Cons: Breakfast was NOT free. There is a restaurant connected to the hotel, I woke up one morning and went in there and they had breakfast laid out like most hotels do, I made a plate started eating and a waitress came up and gave me a ticket lol. The Westbank Cab service (The one the hotel calls to pick you up) charges a flat rate of 21$. I guess this is okay depending on where you're going, but other cabs were about $5 cheaper. My girls and I had a great time at this hotel. It was not in the French Quarter, but just over the bridge from French Quarter and since I had my own vehicle it didn't present a problem. "disappointing in many aspects..."
first off, we arrive at this hotel since we have a job interview in town. we entered the room and figured out the bed sheet is not clean. we called in and asked to replace the sheet with a clean one. the staff came in and changed that for us. (WHY bed sheets are not clean to begin with?!!!!!!!). Then we set up a wake up call for 7 am so we get to have […] enough time for getting ready for the interview, etc. We never got a call!!! NICE! THANK YOU STAFF! we eventually woke up due to the weird noises of the fridge in the room. thanks to the noisy fridge that waked us up! :-/ btw, when we called the hotel front desk to ask for the wake up call, they were not able to recognize from which room we were calling, so thats a huge down side to the hotel in terms of security measures (think it yourself). i am very much disappointed overall and will never ever come back and do not recommend it even to my enemy! "Good Enough"
The hotel room itself was very comfortable and clean. It was the room with the king size bed and sleeper sofa. The bed was super soft, the room spacious, and the bathroom spotless. It's close enough to the French Quarter to take a cab for about 20 bucks, but it takes a bit longer than you'd expect due to traffic. There were, however, a few downsides. […] The hotel is a block away from a nasty neighborhood which makes me worry about crime (mainly concerning the vehicles). The multiple different shifts of counter staff were all borderline rude. And, imo the worst, one of the 2 elevators was broken. Ordinarily, I wouldn't see this as a problem but the elevators are already slow and with 1 to service 14 or so floors, it can take as long as 10 minutes just to get to up or down. Seeing as it's a tower, half the rooms are too high to be bothered walking up or down the stairs. We only stayed for a night and by the time I left I was already frustrated and cursing the elevator.
