Lodging in this area of Maine can be quite pricey, and when we saw this place on Hotels.com, we were interested in the affordable rate but wary that this hotel would be a nightmare. We were pleasantly surprised and would recommend this hotel to others. The location is right off of Route 1, making access to beaches, Bowdoin College and other Maine attractions […] easy. There is a Wal-Mart next door which may come in handy if you need to run out for necessities (and inexpensive souvenirs!). The decor of the hotel is worn and dated, but our room and the common areas of the hotel were very clean and nothing appeared to be broken. The hotel offers a spartan (but free) breakfast, but I would advise you to arrive early before the food disappears. The front desk staff were polite and helpful and answered all of our requests to our satisfaction. Even though our room was on the ground floor, we heard no noise from outside of other areas of the hotel.Our room and the hotel had free Wi-Fi and once you figured out how to connect, my speeds were a respectable 7.98 Mbps/down and 2.27 Mbps/up. If you're traveling in Maine on a budget, I recommend this Days Inn. Read more

Stayed here twice. It's typical Day's Inn; decent for the price but not great. WalMart next door is handy. Free continental breakfast and internet browsing in the breakfast area is nice. A little pricier than I expected (especially in September), but there isn' t much choice in Brunswick; high end inns or low end motels. While nothing special about the Days Inn, there was also nothing bad or wrong about it. Room was not spectacular but it was clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast was adequate and met what was described. Front desk and room cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful.

good, clean, basic motel. No junk, but everything you actually NEED. I'd stay there again (and at other Day's Inns - love the waffles!) if I need to.

We stayed for a single night. Rooms were a bit small, but clean and simple. Location was very convenient and near Bowdoin College. A decent place to stay for a short period of time.

We had no problems with the hotel. Rooms were basic but clean; breakfast was ok. There is a Walmart across the street and a fridge in the room, which allowed us to have a simple dinner in the room without going to another restaurant.

Our room smelled like an ash tray and the rug in the room was wet because the toilet had been leaking for obviously hours unnoticed by the staff. We had our own sheets packed in the car and we brought those in and slept on them. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone and it certainly wasn't cheap. While the front staff clerk was very friendly and accommodating, the room was dark, with old and worn furniture and accessories. The beds were uncomfortable, blankets torn, worn and musty, and the dresser drawers couldn't even open and close. We were visiting Bowdoin, not sightseeing, so this was fine for our needs. It's not on the water or even near it, really, and is on a commercial strip. However, it is easily accessed from Rte. 1 and there are things to do and see within an easy drive from here. The hallways smelled a bit funky, but the room itself was fine.

The hotel was generally OK. However, the rate seemed high for the area; I got a better rate for a better hotel in Portland the same week. The housekeeping could have been better. The free breakfast was nice, especially on Sunday morning (a few extras on the weekend, I guess).

Stayed here on a Saturday night the during August (probably the worst time to stay in this area). I did the reservation thru hotels.com. I unfortunately paid Hotel room prices for a low-end motel room (1-2 star). In my opinion, during this time of summer, this area over charges for the quality of the rooms that you receive. Pros: front desk receptionists […] friendly, room seemed clean and complimentary breakfast. Cons: The Motel is in need of a renovation. The stuccoed walls on the outside corners are chipped down to the metal, the attic hatch molding in our hall is falling off, the fire doors to the stairs are unsafe (no windows in them to see if someone is on the other side when you push on them); only one Ice machine in the place and it was broken; the signage as to where the rooms are located was poor; lobby area had thick dust on the stove pipe and light bulbs burnt out; Shampoo bottle in the bathroom was half used (obviously opened before we got there - I threw it out so they couldn't leave it for next "guest") and our room faced a rail tracks across the street so couldn't keep the window open at night. Small rooms, small double beds, lone receptionist trying to take care of breakfast. Only one ice machine for entire hotel, which was empty when I needed it. Not a very good deal, but ok.
