Response by Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel I certainly appreciate you taking the time to write me concerning your recent stay at our hotel. I was sorry to read that we failed to meet your expectations in several areas. It is our goal to consistently provide the highest quality in both product and service, and it is vital tour continued success to know when we have fallen short of our own high standards. Let me simply say that all of us here at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel are committed to providing a much better and more pleasant experience for our guests than what you had the misfortune of experiencing. Our dining room is open on weekends and we offer our full dinner menu in the Lobby Lounge during the week when most guests are enjoying banquets or exploring other restaurants in Clayton. Our Link@Sheraton experienced with Microsoft is ideal for business travelers and is just one of several amenities in our lobby. Again, thank you for taking the time to write. I sincerely hope that you will allow us another opportunity to demonstrate our true level of hospitality and interest in serving you properly.
"Ok but not great"
This hotel is definitely in need of a remodel. Bathroom was clean, room felt dirty especially the carpet. Bathroom was very small. One of had to use another mirror for make up while the other shaved.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to write me concerning your recent stay at our hotel. I was sorry to read that your stay was less than satisfactory. There is certainly no excuse for our inability to properly clean your room. I feel that a clean room is at the very basic level of the services we provide to our guests. We have an excellent director of housekeeping which makes your experience even more frustrating to me. Additionally, he/she has been unable to provide me with a reasonable explanation as to why we failed to live up to our own high standards. Again, I certainly appreciate your taking the time to inform me of the inadequacies you experienced during your stay. I sincerely hope that you will allow us another opportunity to demonstrate our true level of hospitality and interest in serving you properly.
The problem we had was the noise factor. There were one or two parties on our floor so until 2:00 a.m. you heard knocking on doors, people in the hallway talking and people on their cell phone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel We apologize for the noise others made during your visit. Traditionally our evening security personnel are quick to respond to issues brought to our attention. We hope you provide us another opportunity to serve you during your next visit to St. Louis.
"incompetent and unhelpful staff"
i feel like the sheraton seeks an image of a high quality hotel, but the staff leaves little to desire and prevents such attenuation of quality. the front desk staff couldn't find a room for me, despite my checking in at 7pm. in my reservation i had requested to be away from the elevators and ice machine, and i ended up right across from the ice machine […] and 20 feet from the elevators. i asked if i could check out late, and the guest services operator was not sympathetic and said the room had to be immediately cleaned because someone was taking my room as soon as i left (yet check in isn't until 4:00, and the hotel was deserted - couldn't they have given me a few hours and given my room to someone else)? Regardless, I felt she was lying and unhelpful. Customer service like this will never convince me that such hotel is of high standard. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel Please accept my sincere apologies for what you experienced. Such lack of attention to detail and lack of customer care is not typical of our service standards. Your comments will be shared with the Front Desk and Guest Service personnel so such an event does not occur again in the future. I assure you that when you return you will find our staff to be competent and helpful.

"Shockingly mediorce"
To be in such a nice area and to be a Sheraton Hotel I was very surprised at how shabby this hotel was. Two elevators that took for ever to come to the lobby, and the hotel was not busy. The room was so small I had very little room to move around in. Then there was the stain of who knows what that was in the carpet. I will say the bed and the bathroom […] were adequate, even though again the bathroom was very small. Hardly big enough for one let alone two people to be in at one time. Response by Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel Some of our rooms are cozy. Most of them however are quite roomy with plenty of space for a couple to enjoy. We normally do a better job cleaning the rooms. There is no excuse for cleanliness issues you described. Please accept our apologies for that experience.

Disappointed that parking was not included in the reservation. Price for parking too steep for guests in your hotel. I've never had to pay a parking fee for other hotels I've stayed at.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Below Average if you are a business traveler"
room smelled like smoke; took 45 minutes with tech support to connect to wireless, ice machine didn't work. Just lots of minor annoyances adding up to not a great experience for being in the room 9 total hours.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel Thank you for sharing your comments with us and I apologize for the experiences you encountered during your stay. We have a strict non-spoking policy in accordance with the City of Clayton non-spoking statute and we charge guests $200 if they smoke in the room with no exceptions granted. Once they do smoke we have a process to get the room back in order, but obviously failed if that was the oder you experienced and I will make sure our housekeepers report any such oder. The wireless internet is a challenge depending on users based on our bandwidth today, but this week we hope to have the fiber optic portion of our increased bandwidth project completed which means hopefully in next 2 weeks we will be able to provide 20mb bandwidth which will substantially increase the speed. In addition with fiber optics we will be able to increase this bandwidth much quicker as demand increases vs. hotels that did not use fiber optics. Hope this helps and thanks for giving us the feedback
"Many problems!"
The elevators were broken the whole weekend, making it difficult and time consuming. There was hair all over my shower wall - clearly had not been cleaned. We upgraded to concierge floor which was a waste - the breakfast place was mostly out of food and more food didn't arrive! Lastly, the bill was wrong and wasted 20 minutes of our time trying to straighten […] it out. Weet someone in the elevator who stays there frequently and told us to check our bill since mistakes are common. All in all, not a great stay . Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Do not stay here"
One of the most disappointing hotel stays I've encountered. The tv did not work when we first got to our room and the front desk's solution was to unplug the tv and plug it back in. The bed did not have fitted sheets, but instead only had a square sheet which moved throughout the night, so my wife and I ended up sleeping directly on the mattress.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Let down by Sheraton"
Rooms were clean, but small and out of date. No free breakfast, and a ridiculous $14 for parking were hugely disappointing. After paying so much for a single night, I would have expected a lot more.Genuine Expedia guest review
"No Movies? No Refrigerator? Mediocre at Best."
My son and I were really surprised that this hotel, which is supposed to be top-tier, offered no in-room pay per view movies. Nor did they have HBO. No in-room refrigerator. The amenities were pretty much non-existent. Room service food was poorly prepared--my salad had no dressing and my son's hamburger was burnt. I won't stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel Thank you for the feedback as we review all guest comments in a timely fashion and this information is always helpful for us to improve our processes. To address your questions, we offer two Showtime channels per Starwood standards that are complimentary to all our guests, but no longer offer pay for view movies or HBO. With out knowing when you specifically stayed with us and experienced the smell in the lobby it is difficult for me to understand what caused it, but we have not received any other complaints. We did get with our Executive Chef and Director of F&B to pass along your comments and they have addressed your in-room dining concerns. Thanks again for the information

"Sheraton Clayton"
We booked a king room, confirm said king room, hotel had us down as a queen room. Not a big deal but still aggravating. Hotel elevators require a room key to operate. Would have been nice if at check-in they hotel staff would have mentioned this instead of us trying numerously to press our floor unsuccessfully then waiting for a different elevator that […] had the same issue then finally have another hotel guest explain they had the same problem and showed us what to do. Not a big problem but still aggravating. A/C was extremely loud when on. Hotel walls not sound proofed very well. Could hear every noise in the hallways, people walking, people talking, ice machine down the hall, etc. This went on all night long even though we were the last room at the end of the hallway. I can only imagine how bad it was nearer the heavier flow of traffic. The shower door was not properly caulked resulting in large puddles of water on the bathroom floor. This is despite having the shower head point as far away from the door as possible and double checking the shower doors were closed properly. We could see a stream of water leaking out between the metal door frame and the tile floor. Needless to say this made using the hair dryer to dangerous to use in the bathroom. Lastly the room was small and uderwhelming. I would have expected more from a Sheraton. Bottom line - we will not stay here again and may avoid Sheratons all together. "Better on previous stays"
I have stayed that this hotel several times. In the past I had a King room and this time a queen for the same price. It was extremely noisy and woke me up. The room next door was noisy and I heard the elevator and hallway noise. A little disappointed and will probably stay elsewhere.Genuine Expedia guest review
The rooms are very dirty. The carpet is disgusting and the beds were not consistent with the quality found at other Sheraton properties.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Poor Service"
This hotel considers itself upscale, but guest are not treated well, given poor service and nickel and dimed excessively. Separate charges for parking (even on weekend when public parked for free) and internet. We stayed for 6 nights and had to request toilet paper, soap, tissue and towels. The toiletries were not restocked until we had run out and […] had to ask for more. The bedding was subpar. The comforter was grossly dirty and the pillows were filled with lumps of foam. The room was small and lacked luggage racks. On the plus side, the air conditioner worked well with in room thermostat control. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
