New London Plaza Hotel

I was looking for a New London Plaza Hotel sign when I arrived but it is a Holiday Inn! Very confusing. The hotel staff was very accommodating though, they searched vending machines in non guest parts of the hotel to get me the pop flavor I was looking for. They also allowed us a late check out with no additional charge. The room was a basic room with […] the basic amenities, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, and tv. The bathroom was a nice size and everything seemed to be freshly painted. I did not enjoy however that the toilet seat was a normal round size but the toilet was an oval shape. It left a large exposed piece of the toilet rim out which made using the toilet a little uncomfortable. Other than that, our visit was what we expected for the price. Read more

Had a great time at the hotel. Stayed for new years eve to go to mohegan sun. Had free shuttle to and from the casino. Free breakfast the next day from 10 am to 2 pm and had late checkout at 1 pm so we could sleep in. The only thing that sucked was the shower. It wasnt great.

The building was being renovated during my stay. Construction workers began work around 8am right outside the hotel walls. I barely got any sleep after that began. Also, the curtains do not close all the way so the room was so bright as the sun began to shine. Overall terrible stay. I didn't get much sleep.

I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this place. We were supposed to have a king size bed and got 2 doubles. The matresses were the number system. Only 1 worked. There was a hole in the wall. One of the bedspread throws had grease or mascara on it. The filter for the ac was on the floor. My husband had to fix the sink stopper so water could drain when brushing […] our teeth or washing our hands. Only 1 light out of 3 in the bathroom worked over the sink. The reason we chose this hotel was the price and that they had the sleep number bed. The price was because the breakfast was not included in the price. Overall I wouldn't recommend the breakfast, but the room was lovely.

We arrived at the hotel at about 11pm - The man working behind the desk was not very happy that this website booked us a room and continually complained about it during our check in. We finally got our keycards after about 30 minutes of checking in to get up to our room to find that the keycards did not work. I walked back down and had them reactivated. […] We found that the room was clean and a lot bigger than originally expected. The bed was very comfortable which was definitely a plus. I stayed at the New London Plaza Hotel planning to visit the Mohegan Sun which is very close by. Everything was good at check in, but when we returned later that evening things began to deteriorate. My wife and I were settled in and we decided to rent a pay per view movie. We pressed menu as instructed and waited for 10 minutes while we thought it was […] loading. After nothing happened I called the front dest and the attendant explained that the system was down and were waiting for the repair man to show up. The system was never repaired that evening and in the morning I checked and it was still down. My wife and I went down to have a cup of coffee only to find all the coffee canisters empty. We also found out from other guests waiting for the coffee (which by the way never came) that they cancelled the shuttle to the casino so the guests wound up taking taxis there, which was expensive around $50.00. I stayed at this hotel many times when it was operated by Raddison and was extremely satisfied. Obviously new owners have stepped in and things are not as good as they used to be. This hotel needs to be re-evaluated by Hotels.com. I am usually very happy with Radisson hotels, but this one was a big disappointment and far from being a three and a half star hotel. The staff had no interest in us as guests, the room was hot when we got there, the tub and enclosure were thin plastic units and felt very cheap, the sink drain wasn't […] working properly, the hairdryer was not attached to the wall and was lying on the counter, the TV was an old tube style with a curved screen, and there were mutliple bleach stains in the hallway carpeting.
