Stayed in a one bedroom deluxe. My wife was VERY happy with the accommodations, which made for a great, relaxing weekend We stay in Orlando regularly and we will definitely be back to this place.

The room was very nice and clean. The grounds were very well kept. The atmosphere was very relaxing. My wife and I were very disappointed about the $100 fee for "incidences", which they do return to you after your stay. Expedia never told us about that charge that had to be a card than cash, which is all what we carried around with us. Luckily we did […] bring one credit card with us. This was by far the absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life. I traveled to Orlando on business. My flight was delayed and I arrived at Star Island around 11pm. When I got there, the entrance looks pretty nice. After pulling around to check in, there are 4 cop cars, loud music, and a bunch of drunk kinds standing in the way of the […] lobby entrance. I guess I didnt get the memo it was a trashy little night club as well. I was VERY VERY specific when I made my reservation that I wanted a balcony. I was told "Absolutely, not a problem". After finally finding my mini "suite", I immediately noticed there was no balcony. I lugged all of my things back to the lobby. I was then told ym a very rude older man that it was "impossible" to upgrade my room to a balcony without paying a charge regardless of what I was told. While I was handling this issue, there was woman next to me having a similar conversation about her promise to get a room with a pool view. While these things may seem miniscule, its the fact that this business could not accomodate a woman at midnight who has been traveling for hours with what she was promised. I stood there for a good 20- some minutes waiting for the manager, who never came out/ I decided it wasnt worth my time and walked out. The most surprising part was that they allowed me to leave. My husband and I stayed in a one bedroom villa for 6 nights with our 2 young children- we booked this resort after learning that our favorite resort was already booked. We booked a 1-bedroom villa with a washer and dryer- and upon checkin we got put in a 5th story room in building 39 that didn't have one. We had to repack all our stuff and go back to […] the lobby where we were put into a first floor room in building 16 that had one. The room was a good size, but quite run down. The bed was very uncomfortable with old rough bed linens; the oven door didn't stay closed; the couch was squeaky; the iron leaked water out the top; the dishwasher door was broken; and the balcony was next to the loud bank of air conditioning units for he entire building and was by no means private. The jacuzzi also had hair in it...Rather disappointing for the price. The pools were nice, but the beachfront was pretty gross and you couldn't go in the water or take out any water toys because he water was being treated for bacteria. The hotel grounds were very well kept. The rooms were spacious but the furniture and the carpet were extremely dirty. I could not get comfortable. The kids loved the basketball court and the pool.

Our rooms, 2 BRs, 2 Baths in adjoining suites with a full kitchen and a kitchenette, were beautifully decorated and very clean with LOTS of space, fully equipped kitchen, nice views, lanai, 4 flatscreen TVs, jacuzzi tub, and comfortable living room. We had a great stay. The Hotel and grounds are BEAUTIFUL. Alot to do at the Hotel itself, but we had made plans to go to Old Town which was 5-6 minutes away! Plan to stay again very soon, but do just a "girls" week-end. (Had grandkids at the last visit)

We absolutely love this hotel. We have stated 3-4 times and we have only had a great experience. Very comfortable for a family of 4 with 2 little kids. We had the space and the conforts of home. Our daughter calls it it the House-Hotel, because it made us feel at home.

This resort is showing it's age but still ok. The room was acceptable though the woodeb window screens were broken. The surrounging area is a little drab but shopping center & interstate was near.

Star Island lived up to its name. The room were spacious, and beautiful. My favorite was the bathroom with the huge jacuzzi tub. ( It didn't work) but it still was beautiful. A great place to go for a romantic weekend. Was a little pricey but still like to return with my family.

The entrance way and the girl that checked us in were nice but everything after that went down hill. Our room was way in the back and it faced the parking lot. Even though the hotel had a security guard, there were signs everywhere saying that they weren't responsible for any loss or theft. Thi gave us an uneasy feeling. The walls were thin so we heard […] cars coming and going all night, not to mention the lights in the windows. To get to any activities we had to hike around the building and take a path along a dirty pond. There was no tennis staff on site, the golf club was closed and the activity rental shop didn't open until afternoon. The game room was very expensive. We stayed two nights and I was knew that we wouldn't have room service but when carried our towels to the main desk and asked for new ones they told us it would be an additional charge and it was a lot just for clean towels. In fact all the rentals were expensive and nothing was included. As I said the walls were thin and we could hear people talking in the adjacent room. On the second night they were arguing so loud next dor at 1:30 am that we had to call secruity. Our air conditioner quit working at 4:00 am that same night and our room temperature got up to 82 degrees. We decided to cut our losses and leave at 5:30 am. When I went to check out I expresed my displeasuer to the clerk on duty and he just said "Oh sorry, have a nice day" Don't stay here. There are much nicer and cheaper places nearby. Read more

We have been to Star Island many times and always have a great time. The location is nice and close to the area attractions. Close to grocery stores and local shopping. Olive Garden and TGIF are an easy walk. All in all it is a great hotel. Only thing we didn't like this time was our balcony, it over looked the parking lot and air conditioners. Can't […] really blame the hotel though, it was a really busy weekend and we didn't bother asking to change rooms on the Monday which we could have/should have. Pool is great, but the bar can be a little pricy. They do have happy hour every day twice a day though. The stay at this hotel was GREAT. I would have to say that all of the staff from the guard at the gate, to the front desk were very nice and helpful. I would stay here again. The best part of the stay for me as a mother, was of course, getting into the jacuzzi on Mother's Day, while everyone was asleep. The only negative comment I would say, is the […] light in the walkway outside of the room was shining into the bedroom and I sleep in total darkness.
