The Sugar Beach Resort is located in North Kihei on the sunny south shore of Maui, Hawaii. Overlooking scenic Maalaea Bay and the West Maui Mountains, the resort enjoys convenient access to many of Maui's recreational facilities, sightseeing attractions and restaurants. Located between Kihei and the village of Maalaea, the resort has a secluded ambience.
Hotel Features.
The beautifully manicured landscaping and beachside location are made for relaxation. Long walks on the beach, days spent whale watching and breathtaking sunsets await guests at the Sugar Beach Resort. The blue tropical waters of the Pacific mingle with fine white sand, and the beach is only steps from the hotel's pool and sundeck. Guests of the hotel have access to a putting green, jetted tub, tennis courts and barbecue grills.

Dina's Sand Witch - Cool, quiet, and festooned by dollar bills and other currencies signed by visitors, this is an amiable spot serving big sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers, and bar foods along with tropical drinks.
The Kihei resort offers two tennis courts and a putting green. The activities desk can arrange many other recreational activities in South Maui. There are 17 golf courses in South and West Maui, including four resort courses and one public course within 8 miles of Sugar Beach Resort. The activities desk makes reservations at them all.
Also through the activities desk, the following beach gear can be rented: boogie boards, body boards, surfboards, boards with masks for viewing underwater life, snorkel sets, chairs, and umbrellas. Snorkeling and scuba-diving trips to the island of Molokini off South Maui can be booked through the activities desk.

Kihei has many big-city amenities, including notable restaurants. Here, visitors can sample Hawaiian cuisine and learn about the state’s obsession with SPAM, the canned meat. Kihei’s beaches—Kamaole, Keawakapu, Kihei, and Mai Poina—are good for walking, swimming, and windsurfing. Makena Beach, south of Kihei, is aptly nicknamed the Big Beach. This beach is 100 yards wide and almost a mile long.

Our unit was owned by an efficiency expert and it showed in so many detail. I paticularly loved the spices and condiments in this well stocked kitchen. We had a view of the pool and Kihei bay. "Wonderful place if you like some activities"
We stayed at this place during 2nd part of our trip. This resort is kind of a condo and resort place with a massage & food joint place attached. Nice pool and Nice view of the beach. You will like if you are looking for a calm and not much happening beach. It is very near to harbor where you get to lot of activities like snorkel, whale watch, fishing […] or any other adventure sports. Parking is free and food places and shopping places are only couple of miles away if you like to go for shopping. There is not much in the immediate surroundings but like I said it is a calm and not much happening resort. bed room, kitchenette, bathrooms, living room etc, everything was clean and wonderful, we had no problem at all whatsoever. We had four families (sisters) go at the same time. We had a great time! The room was great. The view was fantastic. We even got fairly close to each other which was convenient. "Not impressed"

"Sugar Beach. All we could ask for!"
We stayed at Sugar Beach on the recommendation of a friend. Other than taking one wrong turn on the way in (you have to go straight toward Lahaina instead of turning south on S.Keihe, then turn into the drive just past the big Sugar Beach sign), we had no problems at all. Very friendly staff. Appreciated the convenience of the little general store nearby. Be sure to try the Hawaiian Ice! Check out the small fruit stand immediately to the west. Sugar Beach was fabulous! We had a bottom floor out to the beach and it was beautiful! Our condo was clean and well maintained. The Condo community was friendly and quiet. My 2 year old son loved running and being able to go our side and play in the grass. Being at Sugar Beach was great for our son. Den Whirlpool kann […] man bis 21.30 Uhr benutzen und dieser ist ca. 45°C - war herrlich. Auch die Poolanlage ist ok. Ins Meer kann man bei diesem Hotel nicht gut, da es Riff hat und nicht so schön ist zum Baden. Aber wer auf Maui reist, ist es perfekt. Denn es hat viele schöne Strände - auch in der Nähe des Hotels.
