NIce style, friendly staff, great location but found sunflower seeds on countertop behind water dispenser and the Mitsubishi Mulit-unit HVAC for the our room was difficult to set and the when the unit in the room below was on it vibrated the floor to our room I know as a master licensed HVAC person that this particular thermostat is difficult for consumers […] as the icons are small and it was located to low on the wall in a corner outside the bathroom. When you take a hot shower it satisfied the heat setting making the room to cool or brought the A/C on and over cooled the room. The vibration in the floor has to be lack of or incorrect installation of the HVAC unit below it was like one of those cheesy vibrating beds and always about the time I was ready to sleep. It was a very clean, modern hotel which my family liked a lot. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast/dinner were very disappointing though. This was a great hotel in a great area of Dallas. Everything was new in the area. The hotel was very clean, smoke free and also environmentally conscious which is important to me. Internet access was very good and no extra charge. Only thing is that they don't seem to have a floor designated for people without pets. If you don't want to stay in a room […] that allows pets, then the hotel should have rooms for people like me. Really the hotel should have a floor designated as no pets allowed. The GOOD: The room was great! The shuttle was available as needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The daily breakfast was quite delicious. The ambiance of the facility was very inviting, especially for the very affordable price. The BAD: The pool area is not as lavish as advertised. What a total misrepresentation! The reviews I read before booking this room were much higher than it deserves. The service was terrible. The staff was incompetent! First, we were sent to the wrong room. I booked a suite, and we were given a tiny regular room. We went back to the desk and corrected that situation. We went to the correct room (so called […] suite). It was tiny. We were told we had a courtyard view, which was another lie. The hallways were narrow and dark. Pretty scary. The noise from the pool at 10:00 pm was unbelievably loud. The noise from the room next door was very loud as well. There were no linens in the room for the sofa bed, and when we inquired at the desk about them, we were told they were not supplied and we would have to come down and get them. The airport shuttle service is THE WORSE I've ever encountered. After flying in from Europe the last thing one wants is a rude driver who makes multiple stops to resturants and malls before taking you to your hotel. The hotel room had its own kitchenette as well as a desk and nice tv. The shuttle driver was friendly and arrived promptly at my gate with little direction. The only issue is we found a beetle and a spider, both of unknown origin, in the bedsheets during the night. I was absolutely blown away by this hotel. It was modern, clean, and the breakfast was incredible. The only 3 issues I had was location - it was so new, that finding the hotel was not very easy with the GPS. The second issue was there was a problem with the elevators when we stayed there - the service people were working on it, but only 1 of the 2 elevators […] worked during our stay. Third issue - the hallways were long and dark (they had these leather strapped attached to metal frames that resembled wood pallets attached to the ceilings in the hallway - which just made it all the more dark. The rooms were phenominal though. We are actually looking at using this location for future photo shoots - we were that impressed with it. Although I feel the price was perfect - other hotels in the area are $25 or more less per night. I wont stay anywhere else but the Element when in the Dallas/Irving area again.
