"2nd stay here...can't wait for our 3rd!"
Had a quick stay this time but as always the room was clean & comfy, the design of the hotel is always hip & trendy, and the staff was helpful. The price was awesome for the quality of the room/hotel. "Room was like a jail cell"

"Mother/Daugter girls nite out"
Loved the hotel! Very urban and unique- my 11 year old daughter had never experienced such a cool Hotel before- she LOVED the pool area with the outdoor beds and heated water. My husband and I needed a little Spring Break getaway and decided our 18lb terrier could come along. Pros: great restaurant/bar, convenient location, comfy bed, spacious room, pet friendly, clean rooms-concrete floors and walls Cons: sliding bathroom door was EXTREMELY hard to move, glass loft overlooked the parking lot-not the pool or courtyard area […] as mentioned on website.....There was a wedding party during the weekend we stayed. "Nice hotet but can be better"
The hotel was nice but customer service needs to improve. Anytime we called the hotel, even before we stayed to get information on the hotel, it took a few calls to get a representative. We even called doen to front desk at hotel and no response. When having diner and drinks in the resturaunt area, my girlfriend had a martini wwith some fruit in the […] drink which the blueberries had fuzz on them. They replaced the drink but did not even have the courtesy to give us that deink for free, and waitstaff was slow and it was a very slow night. I did love location and the bed was very comfotable. NYLO has an "industrial urban loft" architectural theme. Rooms are large and comfy with outstanding king size beds and high quality linens and pillows, so the sleep was great. On the other hand, check-in was an onerous 25 minutes display of incompetence. When I arrived, there were two front desk attendants trying to sort out a frustrated couples mangled […] reservations. I waited about 5 minutes before successfully establishing eye contact and drawing one of the attendants to deal with my check in. She acted like she had never handled a hotels.com reservation before. Found my name in her computer but said she had to go to the backoffice to handle reservations made through hotels.com. She disappeared for about 10 minutes, came out and said it would take a few more minutes. I explained that I needed to check in and had a conference call in less than 10 minutes, so please hurry. Another 5-7 minutes pass and I am getting anxious. She comes back out and proceeds to give me the full rundown of hotel amenities - when the dining room was open, business center, blah blah blah. I politely interrupt and say, "Remember I have a conference call starting right now. Can you please give me my key so I don't have to take the call in the hotel lobby?" Incredibly, she continues with her spiel. Finally, I cut her off abruptly and say, just give me my key or let me talk to your manager if you have a problem completing my check in. Jeez! "The hotel is fabulous but need improvements"
Overall, the hotel is great in terms of location and amenitites. It even has pool table and a library. It is much bigger than the botique hotels in NYC. On the down side: 1. Group of hotel maids chatting and laughing in hall way at 3pm (I just checked in) as if they were taking a break. The hotel should arrange a designated area not to disturb the guests. […] 2. The entire hotel room is made of concretes with minimal decoration (I like the lightings BTW). The sound will bounce around inside the room as echo, including the sound outside. The bed is oriented in a way that your feet point straight to the door. You will hear everything outside as if you watch a movie laying in bed with surround. 3. The bed is way too soft that you feel sore after the night. 4. There is ironing board without the iron? 5. There is soap, etc but no lotion? 6. The air conditioning unit on floor is behind head board. The wonderful concert all night in bed - feet point to door, head points to air condition unit. 7. There was the maid service knocking my door at 9am. Don't they have a list of rooms for their maid? These are small problems to be taken care of, for instance to turn the King bed 90 degree to reduce the sound disturbance. Overall, this is more of the management issue before they charge $200/night in Dallas. I rate Service as most important when in comes down to a boutique style hotel.
