Days Inn Irving Grapevine DFW Airport North

We stayed here overnight on a last minute trip. Disappointed is an understatement. First off, we booked and paid for the room online but were asked for a credit card for "incidentals" which they then did an imprint on a piece of paper. Seriously, who does imprints anymore? And when I asked what would be done with the imprint the clerk acted irritated […] at my concern. The whole place needs a facelift. The carpet in our room looked dirty, the ironing board was stained and ripped. The bathroom was not clean. The tub looked like it needed a good scubbing,the tile floor was sticky and the grout was filthy. The tub faucet was so hard to turn on, my husband said he was afraid he was going to rip it off the wall, not to mention the water kept changing from hot to cold. The mattress was extremely saggy and uncomfortable. We were so uncomfortable about the cleanliness of the room we chose not to eat the free breakfast. We will NEVER stay here again!!! Check in was the first sign in early afternoon no one at desk, waited 15 minutes to see some one return. Visit was for one week and adding a second. gave the Hotel the benefit of doubt when arrived to room and found dirty towels, followed by dirty towels given at desk. By experience and extra safety I tied twist ties to zippers of luggage. To return […] and find they had been gone through, as well room not clean. Top of days later found sheets where not clean, as well a drunk trying to break into my room. Staff at times where kind some where extremely rude, including the manager who found it OK to awake me at 7:00am with repetitive knocks and even tried to enter my room while I was a sleep with out warning of his attempt to enter. The afternoon/evening front desk clerks of this hotel need to take a course on how to provide quality customer service. Their negative attitude was quite evident when I asked for assistance as if though they did not want to be bothered. Further, the room was very small and the towels had dirt stains on them. This hotel was NASTY! Very old and dated looking rooms. Refrigerator in my room did not work, and while I was taking a shower the water was alternating between hot and cold about every 5 minutes. Breakfast the next morning was slim to none and what was there was cold. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

An hour or so after check in, I received a room call from the front desk asking me to verbally verify my check in information due to a computer crash. When I went to the front desk, the clerk said it was not her that made the call. Oblivious and unconcerned is probably the best way I can describe the front desk clerk. I had to ask for a room change. […] The request for a manager call back to my cell phone never happened. Now, the rest of the story: At check in, a different clerk gave me the typical key 'pouch' with the room number written on it.. As I was l leaving the front desk, the clerk announced my room number with directions on how to reach it. His voice was actually louder than conversational. Because this was most untypical, I actually did take notice of three persons in the breakfast area. They appeared engaged in their own conversation, and I decided the unusual announcement of my room number was careless, and not an issue. Now I have serious reservations and feel something is quite amiss with this facility and I would not recommend it. if you can't feel safe at a facility, then all other features are beside the point. This hotel does not have its own shuttle, but used Airport Connection. When the airplane landed at 10:15PM , I called hotel front desk. They said the shuttle should come soon. We waited and waited. That shuttle did not show up. I called them and again for three times. At 11:50PM, it came. My 11 years old daughter already fell into sleep lying on her […] luggage. Then we checked into our room--TWO queen bed. It is so small, and one bed is almost attached to the AC. I wanted to charge my Samsung tablet, but one wall outlet is not working. When we check in, it is very dark, one light is not working either. There are so many cracks on th wall. We even found out some hairs on the sheet. When I finally laid down on the mattress, I started to feel springs underneath hurting my back. The rooms were very small for a family of four, the sheets were dirty, not enough towels. When you would go to the desk for help, the lady there would continue to talk on her cell phone, and we waited for help for 20 minutes, while she made plans for the night. Plus they had a police raid while we were there.

They actually charge for parking if you are leaving your car there for longer than you are staying there. It does not say that. The room was way to small, you was on top of one and another, no room to walk . The beds were hard could not sleep. The shower first hot water then cold then hot, had to hurry before it got cold again. I do have to say we will never stay there again.
