Eminently walkable, Old Town Alexandria offers a glimpse of early America through its 4,000 historic homes and businesses. Many visitors begin their tour at the Ramsey House Visitors Center, near the center of Old Town. One highlight is The Athenaeum art gallery, a Greek Revival structure where legendary Civil War Gen. Robert E. Lee once banked. Don’t miss Mount Vernon, George Washington’s estate.

I thought that is was a good choice for me to be near places that I planned on visiting while I was there for my friends retirement ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"In a gentrified area"
The hotel has an unusual look and feel from the outside because of the area -- it's in a gentrified area where they tried to preserve the historic look of the buildings. It was difficult to spot the hotel because it has no sky-high signage. The inside is pretty ordinary but decently kept. I saw one soft drink machine and no ice machine. It's not far […] from the DC Mall but you might as well be on the moon (Neil Armstrong RIP), as the DC road network sets a new standard for the word byzantine. "Easy walk to Braddock Metro Station and Old Town"
Dated motel with somewhat poor maintenance and upkeep but the bathroom and bedding were mostly clean. For the price, you can't beat it in Alexandria. Walkable to the Metro, free parking, easy walk to King Street and nearby restaurants. Friendly staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Travelodge Alexandria - You get what you pay for"
This hotel actually exceeded my expectations, especially based on what some of the negative reviews have said. This hotel was perfect for me and my roommate, we are both 20-something college students just looking for a place to crash after our days of sightseeing. All the basic amenities were there and worked, for the most part. The only thing I could […] complain about was that to get the hot water going in the morning I had to let the water run for 10-15 minutes. But, the price is right, compared to all the other $100+ rooms found elsewhere in the DC area. The staff was very accommodating and respected our Do Not Disturb sign the entire weekend, even opting to leave us a package of towels on about the 3rd day attached to our door handle. Would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice, cheap, convenient hotel"
After reading the previous reviews we knew what we were getting into staying here and it more than met our expectations. This hotel is about 7 blocks from the Braddock Metro stop, you have to walk through what seems like a bad neighborhood but turns out to be a pretty decent place, everyone said hello and have a good day in passing. Right across the […] street is Trader Joe's and Starbucks, which was convenient as the hotel had a mini fridge and a microwave. This is a great cheap place to stay with easy access to DC and the DC Metro. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit DC cheaply -- you are not going to find another cheap, convenient hotel in the DC Metro area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice location"
While in DC on vacation visiting friends I stayed at the Travelodge for almost a week the staff as very helpful and respectful of my needs on the mornings when I had the do not disturb sign up they left fresh towels and coffee. I will defently go again it is in a great neighborhood very quite the only noise I heard while sleeping was the firetruck going […] by. I was a late sleeper so the Starbucks across the street was great King street is within walking distance and have alot of great little shops. It was a very relaxing vacation for me.
