Eminently walkable, Old Town Alexandria offers a glimpse of early America through its 4,000 historic homes and businesses. Many visitors begin their tour at the Ramsey House Visitors Center, near the center of Old Town. One highlight is The Athenaeum art gallery, a Greek Revival structure where legendary Civil War Gen. Robert E. Lee once banked. Don’t miss Mount Vernon, George Washington’s estate.

"I've had better at cheaper chains."
The pillows were uncomfortable, the TV didn't face the bed or little sofa in the room, so there was no place to comfortably sit, one of the keys they gave me didn't even work, the soundproofing wasn't great, and the blackout curtains didn't cover everything. I've had better experiences at the cheaper chains (Best Western, Comfort Inn, etc.), and will […] be happy to go back to those types. I only chose this hotel, because it was a good location and I got a major discount from hotels.com. I expected better from what's supposed to be such a nice hotel chain, so I was disappointed. "TV problematic"
Free coffee in lobby would be nice, rather than charging for it like a coffee shop. The TV had issues with reception for FOX, HISTORY & HD NET channels. These are minor complaints. Overall, pleasant stay in a clean room & free parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Water & door"
The only probably that I have is that the hot water kept shutting off while we wa taking a shower & while we was a guest. The door handle broke off.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Inauguration Trip"
It's in a great location & when you come in it has a great look. The only thing I didn't like was they didn't have a microwave in my room. I guess the idea is to force you to eat at the "Bistro."Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Trying to get to hotel was a major event. Even with gps it was hard to get there. No eating establishments close by. The hotel bistro was overpriced. The access to metro is great. They offer shuttle to take you and to pick you up.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
They have a Bistro in the hotel which was understaffed. One girl was taking orders, making sandwiches, and busing tables while another employee brought out the food. You ended up waiting quite a while to put in your order.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Everything was great except..."
for the group of rowdy bus tour/college? kids shouting and running up and down the halls till 4AM!! One guy at the front desk in the morning tried to get his room comped, the "Supervisor" balked at that and offered to ask the manager for 1/2....I hope he got it! I wasn't paying for my room, so it wasn't worth the hassle, I just ended up working on little […] sleep. Other than that, the room was clean and comfortable. I've stayed at this hotel often, it's right across the road from my office, and this is my first bad experience there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Relatively convenient"
With all the new road construction going on, you may find it hard to actually get to the hotel. You can clearly see it from the highway but can't get there. Otherwise, an Okay stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not like other Courtyards"
I stay in a lot of Courtyards, but this one is old and needs a scrubbing from top to bottom. The towels were not while but grey and were thinner than in any other Courtyard I have stayed in. If you want to stay in a Courtyard stay off of 395 at Seminary RdGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Courtyard Marriott Alexandria (Eisenhower Ave.)"
Staff members were nice enough, but not well-trained. The hotel is very close to a Metro station, and right on the local DASH bus line, but staff was unfamiliar with both. The lobby was mopped every morning between 9-10, surely not the best time. There was no place to buy a local newspaper. There's a Starbucks franchise on site, but the complimentary […] coffee is a cheaper (inferior) brand and only available until late morning. The Bistro is an overgrown microwave and sandwich griddle. Coke lovers beware - only Pepsi products here! No exhaust in the bathroom. Channel changer very slow. Internet somewhat slow. The book that no one reads asks guests to put recyclable items in a specific trash can. If that trash can were green with a recycle symbol, a guest can recycle even if they don't read the little book. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Courtyard by Marriott in Alexandria on Eisenhower"
Inexpensive place to stay near DC, 2 blocks from the Eisenhower Ave metro station. The rooms were clean, staff friendly and helpful, on-site restaurant serves breakfast and supper with a large group of chain restaurants across Eisenhower from the metro stop. The hotel itself was a bit dated and you have to walk over a pretty steep overpass to get to […] it from the metro but staff will shuttle you if you request it. I'd recommend getting the local number and calling them when you are about 1 stop out from Eisenhower. Would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
