The location of the hotel is GREAT! It is a very quick trip to DC as the hotel is right off 395 and has a decent shuttle service to the Van Dorn metro. Cons about the hotel- 1) Service was horrible. On Saturday after we checked I left the hotel for the afternoon. I tried to call my family back at the hotel to check in several times. However they didn't […] have a cellphone so I had to call the hotel to connect to the room. I called the front desk for over 5 hours with no answer. The phone just rang and rang. I even called the main Days Inn line who also tried to call the Days Inn Alexandria front desk to no avail. When I returned to the hotel I found a lobby filled to capacity with at least 75 people spilling out into the parking lot. They were apparently having what appeared to be a religious event that was so loud it could be heard in our 1st floor room. 2) Even if the front desk would have answered I would not have been able to reach my room because our phone NEVER worked. We complained to the front desk several times and they did send maintenance but over our 4 night stay it was never fixed! 3) Although the hotel boasted free internet service, it NEVER worked during our stay. One night we went to complain to the front desk only to find that we were not alone in our frustration. We actually ended up not complaining because we noticed that the front desk person was not receiving these complaints well. Read more

The front desk lady was pleasant and understanding. The rooms were old and not well maintained, and smelled like smoke. Overall I did sleep ok and was safe, plus a good shower.

I choose this hotel based on the low price and it's location to the Van Dorn Metro station an the fact that they have a shuttle to take you to and from it. They are like a 5-10 min shuttle ride to the station and the shuttle runs every 20-30 min. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms and buildings are old but my room was clean and sufficient. Other then the convenient location of this hotel we would not recommend. It is in poor condition, noisy and rundown area. Ice machine broke, keys constantly not working, ancient elevator that doesnt even show what floor your on. First room they put us in you could tell someone tried to open with a crowbar!

Bathtub water wouln't shut off water ran all night. Both ice machines were broken for atleast a week. When it rained the water came into the room. Hotel personal was great, bed and pillow were comfortable.

I only used this room for a place to lay my head at night and for that it was perfect. My room had a leaky faucet that made a significant amount of noise. i traveled for a business trio all i can say is you get what u pay for i would recomend u pay the extra amount and stay at a better rated hotel...i had a guy peeingon the vending machines outside the registration office 10 minutes later i found the guy inside the office working!!! absolutely not recomended

The room smelled old and even though the room was supposed to be Internet accessible it was not. Attempting to call the front desk for service only led to slow if any service at all. Big disappointment. The hotel should be closed.

I paid for two nights but only stayed one. The room smelled horribly. The sheets didn't look clean. The walls had all types of stains on them. The carpet was disgusting. I slept in my clothes. The cable barely worked. Breakfast was a joke. I ended up going to IHop next door.

The only good thing about this place is the price of the room. That's where the good review ends and the rant begins. Unfortunately I have needed to stay here several times because of its location in relation to my business in the Landmark area. This hotel is filthy. I have never once checked in and been satisfied with the first room they give me. Walls […] look dirty all the time. There is ALWAYS at least one blown light bulb in every room. Although not necessarily the fault of the hotel I have seen police activity on more then one occasion. So if you are the "scared of your own shadow" type don't think twice about this place. Too many things wrong for me to remember but what stands out the most is not getting a reply when i wrote a 3 page letter to the Corporate Office detailing my terrible experiences. I had to stay here because I was trapped by Hurricane Sandy... there was a quarter size of blood in the bathroom. The shower curtain was full of mold. The shuttle does not take you to the airport, only to the local metro station, which is okay if you know how to get around on the metro. Hotel was undergoing work. My room did not have TV service for 2 days. Shower did not drain and the sink was clogged all week during my visit. Unfortunately I have to stay there again starting tomorrow. I hope I get a better room this time. Otherwise I will never stay at this hotel again.

The absolute worst place I have ever stayed. Prisoners should not be housed here. Checked in @ 1:30 am from a rode trip. Some man high on drugs started banging on our window @ 3:30 am. Demanding we let him in. I call security, who explains to me my room is a former crack den.

The only reason I didn't leave and go somewhere else is because it was late when I checked in and I was leaving early and the bed was the only thing in the room that was clean. Every wall had dings and scuff marks. The light sconces were literally hanging off the wall. The faucet was ready to fall off too. The carpet […] was filthy. I would not let my feet touch it. Even the remote control from the 1985 TV was missing the back so the batteries were exposed. The air conditioning was just enough to keep the room tolerable. The staff accommodated my dislike of elevators and allowed me to stay on a lower floor, rooms very nice, neighborhood nice with many restaurants to choose from a block away, parking on the street behind is free overnight and on weekends - must pay meter 8AM-6PM. Felt very relaxed and happy here!
