Hampton Inn Portland Downtown Waterfront

Our stay started off rocky with the manager on duty for the day Nick I believe it was almost lost our business forever over $50. The front desk help Amanda saved the stay and our business. If the manager had used a different tone and attitude it could have been avoided. After that uncomfortable issue the stay was wonderful. The area of Old Port is one […] of our favorites and when ever we go away we always return to there. We feel safe walking at any time. The hotel is just on the "side" of the city so you can start at one end and just walk and walk getting to see all of he interesting stores, galleries, and amazing architecture. The nice thing about the Hampton Inn is that it offers a courtesy ride should you need one to or from the hotel to anywhere I think in Old Port (we didn't use it). Read more

Our room was comfortable and quiet, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself is new and well maintained. The location is very convenient for exploring Portland. We parked our car on arrival and spent the next two days walking only.

We'd heard about the Hampton Inn complimentary breakfasts, but expected a usual hotel breakfast. The Hampton breakfast went above and beyond. Definitely got our day to a great start.

I only got to stay one night at the Hampton Inn, but I enjoyed my stay. The room was a good size and nicely decorated. It was also very clean. The bathroom was also a good size. The Inn is a short walk to all the shops and restaurants in the Old Port area. When I go back to Portland for a visit I would gladly stay at The Hampton again.

Hotel was very nice however the lack of glasses was certainly odd. I enjoy scotch while traveling while my fiance prefers wine. Our room had an ice bucket but there were no glasses, we called the desk and were informed this hotel "had no glasses" but paper cups were provided for our use instead. We'd stay at a Hampton again for sure. Love the clean white duvet. That free breakfast is popular. The lounge area was packed throughout the service while we were there. I liked the hard boiled eggs and the 'robust' coffee that was good and hot, even at 6AM.

Shower walls and doors not cleaned when we arrived, however rest of room appeared clean and in good condition. Our room was on the second floor, with a pretty bad view. The breakfast buffet was very good. Much more variety than other free breakfasts. For families, this would be a huge factor. There were two types of eggs, bacon, waffles, fruit, cereal, […] biscuits, pastries and more. Overall, a good hotel, however price could have been more competitive. Valet parking is $15 per day, so you could try to find street parking easily. Also, there is a lot across the street for $5 per day. Read more

I love Hampton Inns. You can't be the Portland Downtown location - it's walkable to nearly everything. Staff and service are great, decor is modern, rooms are good sized & very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is fairly new and neat, quiet and clean. Staff was very helpful . The Sebgo Brewing REstaurant is attached making a quick or late meal easy. Best of all its located at one end of teh Old Port making it easily accessible.

While this wasn't our first choice for hotels, it turned out to be awesome! Very new, clean, and the staff was quite accomodating. The location was a little further away from our concert than where we usually stay, but it was still within an easy walk to the venue. I would stay here again, no question!

Hampton Inn Portland, ME is extremely convenient to the water front but don't expect a view. The hotel itself is a block away from the harbor so I doubt any room had a view. Our room overlooked the air conditioner units.

Very nice hotel. Yes, they charge $15 to park your car for you, but that's to be expected and you DO have access to it. Parking lot is right outside the door. Please ask how much money they retain for "incidentals". I wasn't expecting a $60 hold on my card. Otherwise, very clean, very nice, but bring bacon to continental breakfast. A big bonus for this hotel was that they clean the duvet covers for every guest and you could tell. It was very clean. The only negative was the parking. You have to pay $15. addl to park there a day and it's valet parking. They are close to shops and restaurants though so we didn't have to drive anyways.

This hotel put us right between the Eastern Promenade and Munjoy Hill, and all the Old Port shops and restaurants, so it was very convenenient.
