"Loved Old Port, wouldn't stay again"
Being a historic hotel located in Old Port, the location is great. The beds were quite uncomfortable and the air conditioner was so loud, we woke up every time in turned on. For the price, you can stay somewhere much nicer with more amenities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very outdated hotel. Hallways smell like a old college dorm, littered with wine glass even in mid afternoon. Checked in at 3pm and was given keys to a room that is unmade, with sheets and trash, and latex (yes) on the ground. Luckily the kids and wife didn't see the mess. We were immediately given keys to another room that was on a lower floor facing […] the street. Room itself was small and musty, bathroom was very small and dated. Given the many options available a few blocks away, we will not be staying here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
it was hard to sleep, noise from the street, noise from staff, noise from other guestsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Felt like a run-down Ramada.Old, noisy, cheesy interiors. Not at all as advertised. I definitely would not go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Don't come here if you want to sleep in!"
The hotel is currently undergo a renovation (April 2012) which they do not explain on their website. The renovations begin at 8am and run all day until 6 pm. I think they should let people know about the renovations before they pay for the hotel. No comfort listening to jack hammers all morning while I tried to sleep in. I think if I visited the hotel […] on business and would be up and gone, then the hotel is very nice. Vacationers, however, should avoid the hotel until the renovations are completed. "Unapologetic during refurbishment"
If you are planning to sleep past 8am avoid this hotel! We stayed 2 nights and could not sleep past 8am due to extremely noisy refurbishments which were not communicated to us when booking. apart from moving us to different rooms around the hotel staff did not seem to care in the least. hotel is decent enough and well located however.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Regency, portland ME"
The construction was pretty horrible and loud. Also, workers on cranes could see in windows. Had to change room once but the second one was worse. The elevator we took dropped us off in the middle of a plastic taped off floor and we had to bust through it to get to room. Not happy for such an expensive stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Should be much better at this price"
Parts of this hotel were undergoing construction during our brief stay. Conditions may therefore change in future, for better or for worse. The desk staff were very courteous and efficient. Our room appeared to have been recently refurbished. However the furnishings, fixtures and workmanship were of visibly poor quality. For example, what looked like […] new shelves and countertops in the bath were visibly tilted, loosened or bent; the showerhead was loose and pulled away from the wall by several inches; the tub was lined with a cheap plastic liner; window shade tracks were crooked and did not work smoothly; the desk drawer had broken handles and did not close properly; the door latch and deadbolt were not aligned correctly; and so on. The room's heating/AC system also evoked the engine room of the Queen Mary; we had to shut off the heat (and bundle up for warmth) in order to get some sleep. We were then startled awake by what sounded like gunfire (or perhaps cannon fire?) outside our window at three times in the night and early morning (this was on a Tuesday). The hotel staff did not offer an explanation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
