"Not what we expected"
Our room was smaller than we expected for a 'suite'. The sofa bed was worn and dirty looking. We ordered room service one night, and the food was terrible and overpriced. "Great value for an extended stay"

"Decent. Stay closer to town if you can."
The rooms were musty. We switched and the second room smelled the same. I'm not sure if it's what they use to clean the rooms, but the odor was striking upon entry. The complimentary breakfast was one of the better ones I have seen. If you had the patience you could order an omelet the way you like it. The other offerings were good also. BUT the elevators left a lot to be desired....slow and dirty. "Okay Stay"
The Hotel chain is great, service great, cocktail hour and breakfast the best! But the hotel felt rundown. Rooms were cramped. Pool was not the cleanest, nor was the hottub. my experience was ok. I was dissapointed when the whirlpool broke and I couldn't use it on my second night . also, on my second day, the coffee maker broke, and a sign wasn't put up to explain that. so after approaching a worker, she said "oh yeah, use the one one next to it" which I did. that batch wasn't drinkable. "Strange set up"
I did know they were a pet friendly hotel but did not expect to have to ride in an elevator with a dog. Allergies acted up. We rented a suite informing the hotel there would be five of us and I was charged at the time of booking for 5. When we got ready to take showers we realized the room was set up for only 2 people we went to the front desk to get […] more towels and wash clothes. They did offer to bring them to our room but we were right there. When I checked out they asked how everything was I said it would have been better if we hadn't gotten a call at 2:30 AM some young man saying he left his pants in our dryer. We told him we didnt have a dryer and hung up on him, The women at the front desk did say they had a problem with some young guests that were there and they had to have the police come take them away. "If location is not important...."
While we found the accommodations clean and fairly spacious, the location to the downtown was not convenient. It was a 15 minute car ride to Old Port, but very close to the airport. "ok room"
we got a smoking room that was clean but looked like it was touched up by a handyman. paint chips on the bathroom door was painted over with a different color .there was a big stain on the couch. The hallway and room smelled really bad of smoke.I know im a smoker but it was very strong.The smoking floor is isolated so the rest of the hotel smells ok. "Embassy Suites - Airport Portland Maine"
I should've known that we were in for a rough weekend when the kind lady at the front desk told us that there was a junior (ages 10-15) hockey tournament in town and there were numerous hockey teams staying at the hotel with their parents that weekend. We decided to stay at the hotel nevertheless, as we had nonrefundable reservations made 3 months in […] advance and also assumed that the hockey players parents and the hotel staff would ensure that the other guests wouldn't be terribly put out by their presence. We were dead wrong by that assumption. We spent the weekend in a room on the same floor as the young hockey players who didn't hesitate to practice and play hockey in the hallway outside our room all weekend. We heard hockey sticks and pucks hitting our walls all weekend, and the screaming and yelling out in the hallway was unbearable. I tried to ask the children myself to quiet down, but was told by the gangs of boys that I was a loser and that I should leave the hotel. I tried to find the parent's of the boys, but to no avail. I could not find any parent's or existance of any supervision of the young boys anywhere.. I assume the parents were all in the downstairs lounge. We couldn't even use the pool all weekend as it was filled to capacity with screaming boys. The hallways and public areas of the hotel became disgustingly littered with trash, wrappers, food crumbs, and our hallway became littered with wet bathingsuits and hockey equipment. We had a difficult time making it in and out of our room all weekend as we were surrounded by screaming and undisciplined boys calling us losers and yelling at us to leave. It was almost traumatic.
