The customer service here was fantastic! My travelling companion and I had an unexpected event come up and we cancelled 3 of my 4 nights staying there... due to that. The night before we were due to leave, we found out that we could in fact stay in the Portland area. After my first night's stay there, I spoke with a Dianne in the morning and she was absolutely fabulous! She not only helped us to get all of the remaining nights there at a great rate. The room itself was great as well. However, the heating system was a bit loud and whenever we opened the outside room door, the plastic cover for the light in the ceiling would suction and create a loud noise. i stayed on feb 1st with friends service was great this time not so good check in was good check out was bad lot of attitude giving because there was a problem with my room .i dont kno if i will stay there again .

Staff was extremely helpful and nice. Wasn’t impressed with food at the onsite restaurant for breakfast, which wasn’t included in our room rate. Loved the pool and 2 hot tubs. Great price, great value.

This is the same hotel we stayed at a few years ago. At that time, the front desk staff was rather crabby and we said we'd never stay there again. But, when it came time to book this trip, I'd forgotten about it. It wasn't until we pulled into the parking lot that I realized my mistake. However, the desk staff is now friendlier. My only complaint is that our room was close to the main desk and at 3:30 in the morning, I could smell coffee being brewed, which meant I wasn't able to get back to sleep for a few hours. It was fine. Front desk staff took a call while checking us in, then focused on the call rather than us. I think she should have put that person on hold. I also didn't like that the laundry room is in a main hallway of the hotel. Housekeeping staff was folding laundry, making up rollaway in this hallway. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area for just a day or two or a couple of weeks. It was very comfortable and the staff was nice. Our room was cleaned everyday to a good standard. It wasn't the lap of luxury but my budget couldn't handle luxury so this hotel fit my needs and my budget.

We stayed at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Portland, Me for the first time and we would return there for sure. The room was spacious, the bathroom was clean and the grounds were well kept. The hotel is a quiet oasis.
