"Wouldn't stay there again"
We thought the pictures on the site were deceiving because they looked like the location was on the waterfront. The hotel was pretty empty as its off season. Our room overlooked the roof. We left mid morning and returned to take a nap. When we woke up there was a printed card that was slipped under out door saying that there was no maid service to clean […] our rooms after 1pm and to pick up towels at the front desk. There was no "clean my room" sign to put out when we left. At a little after 2pm, i asked them tonplease clean our room, which they did. After we came back after an early dinner, I thanked the gal at the front desk and told her that I appreciated the service. She very firmly told me me that after 1pm there is no maid service. The day we were going to leave there were no baggage carts available and we inquired at the front desk where we might find one. The reply (this was another front desk person) said if they weren't there there then none were available. No offer to call our room when one was available and she could see where they were in the lobby. I am a frequent business and leisure traveler. I wouldn't stay there again. "Amazing Beds!!"
The most comfortable bed and pillows ever!! Clean rooms, friendly staff, tasty breakfast, decent price, and ok location. Wish beach access was easier but not a big deal. "Best Hotel I have stayed in for a long time"
Was on vacation here from 13 Aug 2011-17 Aug 2011. ABSOLUTELY NO COMPLAINTS! I had just about everything go wrong that could, my first day of vacation--cell phone dropped between elevator doors, no change for laundry, awaiting on a mailed package, etc. All of the hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fabulous, the hotel room […] smelled fresh everyday and was immaculate. Absolutely no reside from the beach anywhere--sand, humidity, etc. Perfect location for access to anywhere in Destin. Great area for running, too, if you need a vacation fitness plan. Right near the best public beaches--Henderson and O'Steen. Again, highly recommended. "Great Location, Awful Breakfast"
We recently stayed at this hotel for our vacation. It was conveniently located and priced right. However, our room was mediocre at best and the "free" breakfast was terrible. "Understaffed but great location at Wingate"
We loved the location since it was very close to Highway 98 where all the things to do are. However, they were always understaffed and we had to go downstairs and get our own clean towels or extra pillows. I once had to wait while one of the staff was making SMALL talk with one of the customers and the customer pointed out to him that I was waiting. […] We put our dirty towels on the floor and the cleaning person merely folded them and put them back on the toilet! Some of the lights were not working and we really did not like the comforters.
