The price is really good and given that everything is just fine. The in room coffee situation is annoying. The maker is the single cup variety but the one and only coffee packet they provide is for a multi pot type. So you will end up with one really strong cup and one weak cup if you have two people like we did. Not a deal breaker but annoying. So my stay wasn't amazing, but the room was clean and I'd stay again. My friends and I stayed for OU weekend and we were pretty far from the Fair Grounds but not too bad. Breakfast was standard. for the money, this is a great place to stay if you're needing to be near 635...the front desk was very friendly...super housekeeping...large rooms...clean pool...37" Vizio LCD TVs w/ 100 cable channels...breakfast spread was boiled eggs, DIY waffles, sausage biscuit sandwiches by Owens, pastries, muffins, fruit, instant oatmeal, bagels, toast, machine […] dispensed juices, and coffee/tea. a few small caveats...no sign on garland road (it's actually on leon street)...train passes by a few times a day (didn't bother me though...rumbled a bit but no horn and not too loud)...beds were a bit hard...and my groundfloor room did smell of smoke upon entering (not really noticeable once you were in the room and had the A/C on). if i were to rate it on a scale of 1-5, i'd give it at least a 4. stayed in a la quinta the night before for twice the price and the only things better were the breakfast, towels, and truly smoke free...not really worth double the price of the days inn garland west in my book. would stay there again if i had to be in east dallas or garland. oh yeah, two more pluses, cheap gas at the conoco across the street and really fast pizza hut a couple blocks away. MY EXPERIENCE AT THIS HOTEL ON A SCALE FROM 1 TO 10 WOULD BE A 6. THE BREAKFAST WAS GREAT .THE FRONT DESK STAFF WERE FRIENDLY, BUT COULD NOT SPEAK OR UNDERSTAND ENGLISH VERY WELL. The room was very clean, had a microwave and refrigerator, and a great TV. Pool area was clean. Though others were able to connect to the internet, I could not. This was a major problem for me. At first glance, it doesn't look very appealing, especially considering its location in an industrial zone, next to the railroad tracks and across from the dairy.
