"Close to Beach, Far from Las Olas Blvd"
This motel is close to the beach and it is a cab ride away from Las Olas Blvd where all the action is. So, if you don't care about that, then it is an older motel a block from the beach, at a cheap price, and the accommodations reflect that. If you want to be closer to the crowd, Elbo Room, Blondie's, etc then you're better off further south.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Lafayette had great location and grounds"
Employees, staff, grounds, parking, internet all excellent and greatly appreciated. Overall great stay. However "bugs"... were not an expected part of the stay so we had to keep everything in baggies and in our zipped up suitcases the whole stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Place"

"The Lafayette"
My cousin and I had a great time at the Lafayette. The rates were in our budget. I stayed at the Days Inn in Miami this past February and they don't have anything on the Lafayette. The management accommodated our needs. Mr. Raymond the night manager provided us with dining options that more than suited our tastes and his directions saved us unnecessary […] walking. Since the purpose of the trip was just to chill and get away and relax, we didn't have a rental car, so the bus stop out front proved to be a valuable commodity (you should buy an all day pass it is so worth it). Even though there is a parking on the premises. The room served its purpose as it was cold and rainy a couple of days we were there. Hence we decided to stay in order food (he is an adult male and I am an adult female) we had enough space not to get on each others nerves. Our room was only a block from the beach but you could never tell it by the smell. I am big on aroma and our room was fresh. "Adequate and inexpensive"
We got a good deal through hotels.ca and were not expecting four stars. The staff was nice, the room was clean, the location is very good, a block from the beach but largely a residential neighbourhood, and a short walk to the Water Taxi. Ample free parking. Oh, the free Wi-Fi was weak in our room and the shower was a little anemic, because we were […] on the top floor. Nice clean heated pool, free coffee in the morning. The building and the furniture is a little past its glory, but we're plain folk and we don't know any different. I would gladly go back if I could get that good price again. "Sunkigt hotell!"
Sunkigt hotell med ful inredning och med dålig ljudisolering. Sängkläderna var rena men gamla och noppriga. Mycket ljud in i rummet och dörren ut hade en glipa både över och undertill.
