Candlewood Suites Ft. Lauderdale Airport/Cruise

I felt uneasy the minute I arrived. The bed was a tiny queen (no kings available), very uncomfortable. No extra blankets or pillows in room. Air conditioning was set to freezing and would not move up or down. At 1:00am a man tried to get into our room. Fortunately we had the safety bar across. In search of a close location for an early morning flight, I booked Candlewood for my handicapped mother and myself. When we were given the room, it had a weird smell. Although the room was a decent size with two queen beds. It did smell strange. I put up the air prior to leaving soon after for dinner, but when we returned it was as bad as before. We […] requested a change which we were offered, but by then, my mother was exhausted and it was too much to change. During the night, we witnessed a cockroach in the bathroom and realized the horrible smell was likely due to extermination. I am writing this at 3:39 am as I have a migraine and breathing problems due to sleeping in this environment. I am shocked that a IHG (Intercontinental brand) hotel would have this kind of facility. They clean the room only once in 7 days , thats what they told me at the front desk. The fridge was never working. The window was was too small and the ceiling was too low for me. It might not be for others. The day […] I was going to check out housekeeping knocked on my door at 9 am while I was sleeping, and I had the "I am sleeping" magnet on the door. I told her I am sleeping, after an hour another lady showed up for cleaning. I sent her away away. Guess what, a 3rd one showed up....It was like a nightmare. I would never go back there again. Not the hotel you want to stay at if you are traveleing for a long period of time as they do not have any housekeeping, carpet was fealthy, refrigerator was not working and never got fixed after requesting to have it fixed or replaced.

Disorganized and horrible! We waited over 20 minutes to check in and then they checked us in the wrong room, it was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. NEVER AGAIN I felt sorry for the guests that were trying to catch a shuttle to the cruise ships the next day!

Je suis arrivée à l'hôtel avec ma famille. Il y avait environ une trentaine de personne qui attendaient pour avoir leur chambre. Une seule personne à la réception qui prenait plus que son temps pour distribuer les chambres. 45 minutes plus tard, lorsque notre tour est enfin arrivé, notre chambre n'était pas prête. Le jeune homme n'a jamais daigné nous […] offrir une solution de rechange ou du moins nous offrir un endroit pour mettre nos valises. Il se foutait carrément de nous. Lorsque nous lui avons demandé de nous appelé un taxi pour qu'on puisse visiter la ville, il n'a meme pas été capable de le faire. Nous avons dû aller sur le bord de la rue pour heller un taxi. Le lendemain, nous voulions un transport à 11h00 pour le rendre au port. Nous étions 30 qui voulait une shuttle pour 11h00. Aucun moyen de nous accommoder, la shuttle était à 12h30.
