Clean and adequate - we were staying there the night before we were going on a cruise. Just wish they had told us that shuttle reservations needed to be made in advance along with our room reservation as there were no shuttle departure times left on our arrival the night before. My husband and I stayed here for one night before a cruise, and even after calling the hotel directly 3 months prior to reserve shuttle seats at specific times from the airport and to the cruiseport the next day, there was nothing recorded, (and even if they took reservations, there is no room in the shuttle for more than 1-2 small families, so they […] have limited reservations anyway)and we could not be accommodated either way--how awful--especially when planned out and pre-reserved. I called the hotel desk several times before I got to the hotel on several days trying to verifu the shuttle to the airport. When I checked into the hotel and asked what time the shuttle would be there they told me repeatedly that the driver reported to duty and 8 am and that I could get to the airport by my check in time at 8:30. So I had to go running down to the main street and hail a taxi cab and got to the airport for an international flight. The best things I loved about my stay at this hotel was the exceptional service provided by the staff from the moment I arrived at the Airport to my departure to NYC the next day. The shuttle driver was great (who picked me up at the airport at about 1pm), friendly and provided all the information I needed for my stay. She was there to help me not only with my queries, but even guiding me on how to use the laundry machine. I must commend here for her excellent customer service. Must say the best customer service experience in that I have had in the US thus far for this stay. The receptionist in the evening shift was a great help as well, staying past her shift hours to assist. They said on the site that they provided shuttle to and from the airport. When I got to the airport I was told that I had to call in advance to arrange the pick up. Also, the next morning they were using the shuttle from 9 to 2 to shuttle guest to the cruise terminal only, not where I needed to go. I had to get a cab both ways. "Not what I expected with decent reviews"
Let me start by saying that I work and stay in a lot of very high end hotels that I can't afford when I have to pay for them myself. Therefore, I don't write many reviews since I have gotten used to nicer rooms and my idea of a 5 score is different than it was before I got my current job. The lady at the front desk was beyond nice and polite. But from […] there, it went downhill. The room smelled like a dog stayed in there for a week and was bathed in the tub and allowed to jump on the beds. It was terrible. It was 1 am and I had driven for 14 hours, so I didn't ask for a new room. When I woke up, There were 4 tiny bugs crawling on the kitchen counter. I didn't see any in the beds which I immediately checked and I have heard bedbugs do not like hard wet surfaces so it may have been other bugs native to Florida. I looked up "pics of bedbugs" on the internet and they did look an awful lot like some of the ones I saw. I didn't have a microscope, so I will not say for sure that's what they were. I try to stay at hotels that have 3.5 or higher reviews. This hotel should have a 2.5 review based on my room and I would have picked a different hotel had that been the case. Great hotel. It was close to the airport and situtated on a street with lots of stores and restaurants. The free shuttle to the airport was nice. The first one is at 9:30 am though. The room was clean and the kitchen was an added bonus that I wasn't expecting. They say they have a shuttle to the airport and cruise ports but BEWARE.... they only have one! We signed up for them to take us to the airport at 930am. We went down at 910am and they had already left. What is the point of making a reservation if you are going to leave before the scheduled time! We waited till the next round but, could have missed […] a flight if it was busy. They also dont start shuttle service until 10am on Monday (which is a busy travel day). We had to get our own taxi back to the airport which was not planned. This hotel is also very dirty. They have no smoking signs on the 2nd floor but, we passed 2 people smoking in the hallway which is gross to smell!!! I was very disappointed for the price we paid.
