This was an ok hotel for the price. It's right across the street from the beach and close to all the attractions in Ft. Lauderdale Beach. "Beach is The Beach"
I enjoyed it. The first room I was in was so far from the wireless router I was unable to get a signal. I notified the gentleman on the overnight desk and he switched me to another room. There I got a strong signal and was able to go online as usual. The bathroom sink in the second room leaked, and the television channels were restricted to about 15 […] or twenty. They also had a hidden charge of $10 per day for parking. I thought this was outrageous. "Antiquated"
Hallways filthy. But Great View of Ocean. No Refrigerator or microwave. This place is still updating. Coffee machine in Office, but they refused to supply milk & sugar. The Hotel next door owns both. "Not for families with small kids"
This hotel is great locations wise, right across the street from the beach and within walking distance of restaurants and shops. However, because there is a bar by the pool, they play very loud music until late into the night. Also, they have no ice machine or ice buckets in the room. When we asked, they said to ask at the bar. They then gave us ice […] in a plastic bag. Then the bar is closed in the morning so you can't get ice until the bar opens. The write up says they have an elevator but it was not working and judging by the rotting boards up in front of it, it hasn't worked for quite a while. It looks like they are trying to do some up grades, our room had newer furniture and paint but they bathrooms are really old and not in good shape. Also there were no dressers in the room so there is no where to put clothes if you are staying for a few days, The beds were comfortable but the towels were thin and dingy. I would suggest bringing your own towels. If you are just a couple looking for easy access to the beach, don't mind an older hotel and will be up late anyway, this would be fine for the price. "Some truth to other reviews and some not"
The hotel is in a great location. Contrary to comments I found no bugs in my room. It was large and had a decent kitchen and a large fridge also plates and silverware and glasses. I washed them before use. I did use the fridge to as there is a CVS and a Public Grocery close by. The pool was nice and the bar is fine to hang in. I had no issue with noise […] from the bar since the air conditioner was loud but I like the white noise. Helps me sleep. Beds where ok. Towels where changed regular. View was great. Right across from the beach. Staff was friendly enough but not super friendly but I was nice and they seemed to respond to that better. The only real complaint would be the doors do not seem secure enough for me. As I had my laptop with me. There was a room safe. I used it for my ipod and wallet but I should have had my net book cause that would have fit the safe. But really the doors should be replaced. That would be expensive cause they are also part of the window frame but my door just didn't lock well. All in all I would stay there again. No problem. "You get what you pay for"
So it was my birthday weekend, this past Saturday, and my friends needed a place to crash for one night. We decided to book this hotel, because lets face it, it was super cheap and available during Memorial Day Weekend. Since it was very las minute, I did not get a chance to look at the reviews, until after the fact. And wow I was super scared. But then again I just reminded myself of what I paid, and I definitely did not expect the Ritz Carlton. Overall, the hotel is decent and it really is not that bad as the other reviews. Its a old hotel, and you really can not expect much for the price. Towels are decent, beds are decent, sheets were clean, floor had stains and were dirty (so do not walk barefoot), TV was old, pool was small but clean, bar was good, (the free cocktail was delicious, and the bartender was beyond nice!) No early check-in, and no late check-out. FYI, they will knock on your door exactly at check-out time. And that pretty much sums it up for this hotel. So- here's the thing, location wise its brilliant. Right across the street from the ocean, little pool out front with a few chairs- very nice. However... if you are not a spring breaker or good at sleeping through chaos, I wouldn't recommend it from end of February through the end of May- their poolside bar has a DJ/Karaoke going until the wee hours […] of the morning which can be heard at some level in all of the rooms. My best friend's bachelorette's party, we decided on this place, because the picture of the room looked so nice. It wasn't. The efficiency was gloomy, old and dirty.
