Coming in at 4 am. we had no choice but to stay. Filthy, stained tile floors you wouldn't let your feet touch. The walls were gouged and stained with what appeared to be food stuff. The furniture was aged and broken. The room stank of mold. Any metal in the room including the door hinges and hardware were so rusted, it was as though they were left underwater. […] The bathroom was gross and the door wouldn't shut. The shower ceiling had exposed drywall from a long ago repair and the toilet was not secured to the floor. The bathroom also had no screen in the window that overlooked a filthy dirt alley. Parking was a joke and I was told to park anywhere around the block even though most of the spaces belonged to the many apartment buildings. I don't understand how this place rose to a 2 star rating. We came for spring break and was not expecting much. This place is absolutely so disgusting, we had to leave early. The beds have blood stains and are not washed even if you request it. We are college kids on a spring break and this was way too much for us. STAY AWAY and go to another motel.

the hotel is old and dirty. however, it is directly across from the beach and much cheaper than surrounding hotels in the area. its a 4/5 block walk to tons of restaurants and bars. It really needs some updating but your paying for location.

This is an older hotel, so if you are use to fancy, you won't find it here. For the money it was perfect, clean,bug free. The only big problem I had was I called the night before I checked in to make sure all was ok and to make sure there was no hidden fees or deposits, since I prepaid everything. The lady said there was none and I was good to go, but […] when I checked in the lady that was working that night said she needed my card for a deposit, it was fine but would have been nice to know before, and when I checked out the Hotel mgr. acted surprised I was charged a deposit. It was horrible, the front building wasn't too bad but that's not where hotelsdotcom people stay. This was an entire block of old apt. Buildings should have been condemned, rotted moldy walls, door been kicked in no heat no tv no phone , was a crack house I think. If it wasn't so chilly the night we stayed there. Is have slept on the beach less chances […] of bringing home some bugs. Over all there was nothing good about this place and I'm very disappointed that hotelsdotcom would even book a place like this. Located right across from the beach so you can't beat it's location. Rooms are older/out dated but has not to bad if your not spending allot of time in the room. Walking distance to several bars and resturants. No bar or resturant at this hotel. Rooms are situated around the pool and it's very cozy, it's not the Hilton but it's not Motel 6

I understand these rooms get booked quite regularly but everyutrhing was old, ragety and dirty!!!! I think Hotrel.com should do a sitre inspection before recommending these rooms or hotels. I am in no way a picky person and i always make the best of any situation, but this time i met my match! I paid for 1 bedroom sweet and was put in a studio at best […] with 2 queen beds, the tub would not drain the kitchenet was dirty! and no coffee maker much lesss coffee. I checked in rather late so did not ask for a room change untill the next morning @ wich time they gave a smaller room but at least the tub drained and when i rquested a coffee maker? they brought me one that was very dirty and had not been used in GOD knows how long!!!!! Even the cheapest Motel 6 has a descent coffee maker.........anyway I will never reccomend or stay here again! Read more

Great location, staff was eager to please. Cable did not work in the bedroom, but was not in the room much. Was not 4 or 5 star and neither was the price. We were satified for what we paid. Would definitely stay there again.

I stay at Avalon 2-4 times per year. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the new owners are working to improve the property. Avalon is and has always been a comfortable place to stay with a great pool and cross walk to the ocean. The prices are reasonable and for a "no frills" place you can't beat it. I will continue to stay often.

The location of the hotels was fine but that is maybe the best that I can say about the stay. Our room was dirty and even our sheets were not changed after the previous guests! We booked 4 nights in the hotel but were so dissapointed with our room and facilities that we cancelled 3 nights. Cannot recommend to anyone, not even low-budget travellers.

Bytte rum 2 ggr, det forsta saknade en stor del i ytterdorren, det andra hade smutsiga sangklader men det tredje var helt ok.
