"This is a dump"
This is a dump. Some Rooms are smelly and some are noisy (we had to change the room). The one that was not smelly or noisy didn't look appealing (wear in rugs, paint missing in walls, etc) The pictures are very deceiving. "Avalon waterfront hotel, Fort Lauderdale Beach"
We made a decision to book this hotel based on it's location, price and very nice and appealing pictures. BIG MISTAKE! It has not been remodeled for at least 20 years. Old, mismatched, scratched furniture, damaged doors, NO COFFEE MAKER in the room, NO ICE MACHINE in the hotel, Only one out of 2 TV's worked, and they were small and ancient, ancient […] half-functioning stove, only 2 towels per day were placed in the room, cockroach was observed in the bathroom, the place is a total ruin, the only good thing about this place is it's location, and the nice Hilton hotel across the street. The choice of continental breakfast is very limited, only bagels, OJ, coffee, apples and oranges, no cereal, no milk, no bananas. "Great Location but service & cleanliness was awful"
I read the reviews before booking this hotel but our focus was on the neighborhood and not the hotel rooms. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for something cheap in a great area. "Substandard room quality"
The room was old, furnishings were old, chairs were loose and unsafe to sit on, nightstand lights did not work, bulbs were burnt out. There was a spent beer can under the bed. The bathroom is small and not user friendly, Leaking hot water foucet in the shower was dangerous to touch due to heat. The room carpet was stained and worn out. Not a pleasant […] room to stay in. I absolutely loved this place! When I checked in the front desk staff was so nice to me and even went online to print out directions for me to a friend's home! I was pleasantly surprised at the room. It was very clean and had an old Florida feel to it. Biggest bathroom I had ever seen!! It was within walking distance of all the nice little stores and […] clubs that are on the beachside area. Det enda som var bra här var att personalen var otroligt trevlig och hjälpsamma. De åtgärdade det vi efterfrågade och var hjälpsamma med tips och annat. + Läget, precis vid stranden och nära till affärer, restauranger och nöjen. Mycket trevlig och hjälpsam personal som anstränger sig utöver det vanliga. "Smutsigt, okontrollerat, allmänt dåligt"
Vi anlände till fullständigt kaos. Helt klart var att man överbokar och det var nog bara att vi kom nära incheckningstiden kl 15 som gjorde att vi fick det rum vi bokat via hotels.com. Hela eftermiddagen hörde vi om gäster som inte fick det de skulle ha osv. Vårt rum låg längst bort från receptionen och visade sig komma direkt ur en "kojak film" från […] 70 talet. Fönsterrutor som ersatts med masonit, smutsigt (alltså riktigt skitigt) i fönstren. två av tre lampor fungerade inte. Vi klagade i receptionen och utan det minsta knorrande (det var som att de visste men chansade) fick vi ett bättre rum. Även detta var av låg standard men iaf okej. Mna får lite av avd man betalar för men detta var ändå inte något "billigast alternativ" Frukosten är helt värdelös och bör absolut inte räknas in i priset. Består av en kaffe och en bagel. Man kan absolut vara utan och köpa något ute. Internet var extremt svajigt och funkade bara korta stunder så om datorn är viktig bör man välja annat hotell.
