"Great stay, bad valet"
Overall, the Hyatt Pier 66 is a nice, quiet hotel with a very nice pool area. However, we dealt with a very aggressive and rude valet guy who was not at all hospitable. We informed him to check with the front desk and to bill the parking to our room; however, he did not listen and caused a fiasco. Next time, be more hospitable to your guests as we are […] accustomed to staying at the Fontainebleau and Trump. I give the hotel 4 stars and valet one star. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We had a room in the Lanai (not the tower), which many other reviewers have rated negatively, but we found it very comfortable. The room opened onto a small patio by the marina that was quite lovely. Grounds are beautiful. Staff was polite and helpful. Only complaint was level of cleanliness and occasional noise.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Terrible for +$200 ... room was very dated , marks on tables , lamps were old, bathroom very cheap, no food, room service/shop/snacks available after 11.pm . step it up , you're a hyatt ..Genuine Hotels.com guest review

While I had reserved a king bed, none were available. The hotel was nice, but not meeting my request for a king bed was a big negative. We had to request a new room due to air conditioner noise in the original room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel was nice, however the room I stayed in was more of a 2 star not a 4 star! The room was clean but old and small. No remote for tv was told one would be brought to me, still waiting...Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good for Family/Close to Beach"
Good location, 3 blocks from beach. Check In was average, we were early, room not ready, they called when it was, etc. Coming back to pick up the key was assisted by Evan who was much friendlier than original check in experience. Building we were in was old but rooms updated. View of the marina was very nice. Nice pool area, towels old and small. Hot […] tub large but not really hot. Nice enough for the one night there. "Some terrible front desk staff otherwise excellent"
Some of the front desk staff lacked people skills, and were just plain rude on several occasions. Some of them were also incompetent and lacked diligence in fulfilling vital guest requests. We had an issue with lost luggage arriving from the airline to the hotel, the reservation at the hotel was in my name but the lost luggage was in my girlfriend's […] name. I asked the front desk to add my girlfriend's name to reservation, explaining that the airline would call and deliver her lost luggage. They said they added her name to the reservation, but when the airline called, guess what?! They said she was not staying at the hotel, so her bag was delayed an extra five days before we could get the issue solved. When I explained this to the front desk, they were their usual aloof and carefree selves (I even overheard one complaining about foreigners not tipping enough - I'm a foreigner and I tip over 25% if I get good service, but I digress). They blamed their software for only showing the "primary reservation holder" when they search for a guest's name, but it is their fault for not knowing how their software works. Every day we had to remind the front desk staff of our situation because every day it was all news to them, they had no idea what was going on. They were rude to my girlfriend on one occasion when she went to remind them, and nobody took ownership of the problem so we could relax. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Dated hotel!"
The rooms here are very dated. Lets start from the hallway to the room. The hallway looks very old and seems like it has nothad even painting for ages. It makes one feel entering a roadside motel. The room is highly dated. The carpets are old, the toilet is ancient and cooling system is more like a noise machine. I was able to get sleep bcoz the noise […] of the cooling system. The bed quality is no where upto the standards. My wife got a bad neck pain. The sink in the bathroom was broken I had to call for service... The room smells mushy and weird. The patio was okay but, AC mounted on the wall was not cleaned and looked YACK it was visible from the the patio. Also, they mentioned they have a shuttle running every hour upto to 6:30 pm b/w Fort Lauderdale beach and hotel. But, at 6:30pm no shuttle showed up. Upon calling the concierge I was told to get a taxi. I strongly don't recommend this hotel for the price they are charging. I wouuld rather recommend a cheap motel and the money for something else. Expedia folks recommend this hotel for me I wish I had not taken their recommendation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Cannot believe they call themselves a Hyatt..."
I was extremely diappointed by my hotel stay at the Hyatt. For the amount of money we paid, the room we got (the lanai by the pool) was no different than a motel 6 or any other motel for 1/3 of the price you pay here. In addition, the staff is extremely unfriendly, unhelpful and just there going thru the motions talking to you like they are doing you […] a favor. Do not waste your money on this hotel, not worth it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A near-perfect pool-side paradise"
My family and I stayed for 5 days at Pier 66 and we absolutely loved it. Beautiful grounds, wonderful pool area, friendly staff and convenient to the beach and to eateries. (but not walkable to beach.) To top it off we were fortunate to have met Evan at the front desk who arranged for us to see the magnificent night-time view atop the tower. Wow. We […] could see why so many people hold their wedding parties in this spot. A few people complained about the "motel" quality of the older section of this hotel. That is where we stayed and we thought it was fantastic. We had a second floor porch with a view of the pool and the tower (an architectural oddity built in 1965) that was perfect. Only minor drawback is the small gym/workout room. We also loved walking along the path around the hotel and checking out the window into yacht culture. Great deal - great hotel. Thank you Evan for being the gracious and friendly hotel professional that you are. You made our vacation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good for pre or post cruise"
The staff was very friendly and professional but our first room was moldy and smelled terrible. The manager was right on it and we got a different room quickly, and without a fuss. . The disappointment was that the second room was not cleaned well. Used soap in the bathtub, hair in the corners of the floor and the toilet was filthy. We were pretty grossed […] out but it was our second room of the day and after a long flight we were too tired to move to another property. Bar and pool were great. Bartenders were super friendly and gve us a couple of great restaurants to go to. If they could get the cleanliness up to par, this is a great ore or post cruise property. It's a nice oasis. If you go make sure to check the bathroom ! Don't miss the water taxi, 20 dollars for the day and they drop you at various spots for shopping and dining. It's hop on, hop off and is walking distance from the hotel. Poet is about a ten minute taxi ride at most. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Cruising?"
We only spent one day at the hotel. It was selected for its location near the cruise lines. If you rent a car from Avis at the airport, you can return it at the hotel and take the free Avis shuttle to your cruise line. This makes up for the $21.00 hotel parking fee. However, there are other hotels in the area that are not quite as expensive. Unless […] you are young and hardy, you would probably want a car. The hotel is not surrounded by shops and restaurants. Our room was not in the tower, we were on the first floor of the 2-story building. Our view was picturesque and the room was clean. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Customer Service"
We arrived at our hotel after a lot of delayed fights and missing luggage. We entered our room and it was on the ground floor, facing a canal, which was very nice. However, the lock on the patio door was mangled (it really looked tampered with) and did not work. Unnerving! And when I rang the front desk, a woman said someone would fix it and if that […] did not work, they would then change the room (which, considering the lock's condition, was not enough). I went in person to the front desk and was met with a very helpful and friendly young gentleman who immediately changed the room, with an upgrade. It was a great room with a balcony over the pool and tile floor. He was so nice about it that he changed my entire view of the hotel. The hotel needs some refurbishment (our new room was much nicer, but a bit shabby around the edges). But with an employee like that...the stay went from a possible two rating to a four rating for sure (with him getting five stars- wish I had gotten his name!). "Nice but not a 4-star."
This hotel was ok, but I wouldn't rate it as a 4 star. The corners of the room had not been cleaned in a while. The food was ok, but definitely not worth the cost. When we checked in the hotel water was off due to something the city was doing. However, the hotel staff failed to inform us of this at check-in! The beds were comfortable, and it was neat […] to watch the yachts outside our window. You can see the cruise port from the window, and restaurants are within a mile in either direction. I stayed at this hotel with my wife and son. It was great. The hotel was convenient and we really enjoyed our stay. I did read some negative reviews before I chose this hotel and can understand where the reviewers were coming from. I do think they were overly negative. It was a great experience for us. "A Hyatt Holiday"
The Hyatt Pier 66 is a superior hotel with an awesome location. Within walking distance of the marina and only a few miles from a beautiful and lively beach. It is also very convienent for post or pre cruise packages. Many rooms afford an amazing view of Port Everglades. It is exciting to see the cruise ships as they come and go. During our 4 night […] stay we were treated very well by the staff. Most times we were address by name. The spectacular pool is a sight to behold with cascading waterfalls. The Concierge was helpful with our sightseeing plans. One of our most memorable evenings was spent at the lobby bar with Ricardo taking excellent care of us. He not only is a great bartender, he is highly entertaining as well. We will never forget his charm and humor. My family and I are already considering another stay at the Hyatt Pier 66 in June. "Be careful"
The hotel originally put me in another building, which is accessed by taking the elevator to ground then walking to a condo-looking structure. When the front desk man pulled out a map to give directions, I should've known it wouldn't be good. Sure enough, I got to the building (motel-like in that the doors are exposed to outside) and the room was decrepit […] and disgusting. I asked to transfer rooms and though the front desk accomodated my request and put me in the main tower, there was a piece of bacon (or substance resembling this) on the carpet next to the bedside table in this room. I figured it best not to complain, content to be in the main tower and fearful of the next option. The next morning, we received a bill for self-parking, which was not stated to us and there are no signs indicating that there is a charge to park the car yourself. When I left for the airport the next morning, I saw a "shuttle bus" in front but knew better than to take them up on this sketchy offer. Another hotel guest did, and was told it was a contract taxi service and would cost about $35 to the airport (that is located 2 miles away, if that). My husband was also woken up in the middle of the morning by someone entering the room (not a maid). Though the hotel gave us a partial refund for the parking in exchange, we were still a bit taken aback. In short, this is a somewhat shady hotel but if you are in the main tower and cognizant of their gimmicks, then it is tolerable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
