This place really needs a re-do. I travel for my job and this hotel does not rate the prices they are charging for their rooms. I'm a Hyatt Platinum member as well. They let me down at this location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

While I had reserved a king bed, none were available. The hotel was nice, but not meeting my request for a king bed was a big negative. We had to request a new room due to air conditioner noise in the original room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel was nice, however the room I stayed in was more of a 2 star not a 4 star! The room was clean but old and small. No remote for tv was told one would be brought to me, still waiting...Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good for pre or post cruise"
The staff was very friendly and professional but our first room was moldy and smelled terrible. The manager was right on it and we got a different room quickly, and without a fuss. . The disappointment was that the second room was not cleaned well. Used soap in the bathtub, hair in the corners of the floor and the toilet was filthy. We were pretty grossed […] out but it was our second room of the day and after a long flight we were too tired to move to another property. Bar and pool were great. Bartenders were super friendly and gve us a couple of great restaurants to go to. If they could get the cleanliness up to par, this is a great ore or post cruise property. It's a nice oasis. If you go make sure to check the bathroom ! Don't miss the water taxi, 20 dollars for the day and they drop you at various spots for shopping and dining. It's hop on, hop off and is walking distance from the hotel. Poet is about a ten minute taxi ride at most. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice but not a 4-star."
This hotel was ok, but I wouldn't rate it as a 4 star. The corners of the room had not been cleaned in a while. The food was ok, but definitely not worth the cost. When we checked in the hotel water was off due to something the city was doing. However, the hotel staff failed to inform us of this at check-in! The beds were comfortable, and it was neat […] to watch the yachts outside our window. You can see the cruise port from the window, and restaurants are within a mile in either direction. The safe in the room was in a cheap cabinet in the closet and wasn't bolted to the wall. Someone could come along and pick it up as we were on the first floor and not in the main building. "Close to the port"
The hotel is older and is certainly showing its age. Fixtures were showing rust and room was on par with what I would expect from a econolodge. "Decent off-peak getaway spot"
My husband and I travelled here for a long weekend to celebrate our one-year anniversary, which falls at the end of September. That meant we got great off-peak pricing on the room with some unfortunate September rain. The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly...the concierge even sent a bottle of wine to our room with an anniversary card! What a nice […] touch. The hotel itself was not sparkling new, a little dated on the exterior. But the room was updated. The bed was not comfortable at all but we did not complain so there's nothing they could do about that. Off peak means the staff was pretty sparse and the bars seemed to close a bit early. But on the one non-rainy day we had, they handed out cold towels by the pool. We do wish they had lowered some of the service, food and drink prices to reflect the off-peak rate we paid. But all-in-all it was a good trip. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Do your homework before you stay"
The time of year was the slow season per conversations with employees. The meals at the restaurants were way overpriced for the quality. The sheets on the bed felt as though they were made of acetate and it was noisy at night due to the antiquated air conditioner. "Older Hotel...and it shows!"
First, you might want to tell everyone it costs an additional $21 per night to park your vehicle! It's an older hotel and it shows, maintenance is severely lacking, had to practically kick my door open every time, ceiling in walkways were missing and it didn't look like they were in a hurry to fix them, there was debris all over the bottom of the pool […] along with a pool attendant with an attitude. The food was good but waaay over priced. With the prices this hotel charges for everything, you would think they could afford to put some of it back into the place!!! Maid service was very slow. Some days room wasn't maid up until 4-5 PM. Carpet in hallways was dirty and torn in some spots. We expected more from a 4 Star Hotel. The lobby was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was in need of a update/renovation. The shower actually leaked through the wall and made the carpet wet, next to the bed. "Nice Hotel & nice price, except for the extras $$$"
The hotel was nice for the price, until they charged $25 to park your car, and $40 for breakfast. Should have clearly stated that there was a parking fee, and that breakfast was additional. Even if you didn't want breakfast, they didn't even offer complementary coffee. They wanted $3.00 for that too. Would not stay at this hotel again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Truth"
My room and bathroom is very old and could do with some renovation but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The receptionists weren't pleasant during check in and check out but maybe it was the ones who attended to me and not a reflection of them all. They charge a hefty amount for parking which is a turn off considering the star rating. My stay […] was for business purposes so I didn't get an opportunity to experience their amenities but the exterior of the property is quite large and well kept. I guess if the Hilton across the road was full as it was during my trip then I would stay there again but their star rating should be lowered to 3 until the comfort and customer service is improved. Response by Hyatt Regency Pier 66 As always, we greatly appreciate our guests taking the time to share their experience both with us and other travlers on TripAdvisor.com. The stay described above falls far short of the manner in which we strive to serve our guests. If your plans ever have you returning to our areas plesae contact me directly so that I may assist you with your accommodations. All the best,
"Fair room"
I would not consider this a 4star hotel, more like a 3 star. The check in process was very friendly and the bellman. When our room was finally ready, the gentleman that gave us the key had us walk all the way around the perimeter with our luggage. The carpet in the stairwells was pretty disgusting and needs to be replaced. The room we got at the 40 […] % off as a secret deal, was probably the worst room on the premises. My secret price deal was only $8.00 less than I could have gotten a room on their website without taking the chance. We did have a cockroach in our bathroom. So, overall it was okay but not a great experience. One thing I liked was that they had a shuttle to the beach. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

For a hotel of this price I would expect better service and a little more motivated staff: our rooms were ready 2+ hours late at the day, and the staff barely apologized for the delay; the breakfast cafe's waiters were painfully slow all 5 days of our stay at the hotel; the spa center was closed for renovation and neither Expedia page nor the hotel's […] web site had any warnings associated with it. "Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale"
Most of the hotel rooms appear to be in an older part of the hotel, and not in the newer tall building they feature. Our room smelt a bit musty but the grounds were kept up nicely. "Not Pet Friendly - they simply accept pets"
The hotel is conveniently located for our most recent business trip; however, the lanai rooms are old and outdated. Stained carpets and I found 5 hairs in the tub upon arrival. We traveled with our pet (12 lb 10 year old miniature pinscher that we adopted from a rescue organization 2 months ago) and chose this hotel mainly for A) its location, B) the […] fact that they accept pets, and C) the Hyatt name. While some of the staff has been wonderful, like Chris at the Orchid poolside restaurant, and Johnny at Pelican Landing, when I called the front desk to report that my small dog had been attacked by one of the many feral cats on the property, I was told that I was in a room that did not allow pets, even though I clearly put the request in my booking. The gentleman further told me that they cannot control the feral cat population and he was more interested in deflecting my concerns by telling me I had been less than upfront when booking the room as to traveling with a pet. I did not ask for anything, not for them to pay for vet fees for an exam, or any type of refund, or anything; just notified them that the feral cats were a problem for pet owners. They told me that they were going to charge me the pet fee (fine, I assumed they already had because I told them I was bringing a pet). I gave them the location of the cat that chased us down the hotel corridor a good ten feet attacking my dog while I was dragging her backwards. While walking the property with my dog, looking at the many boats in the marina, we encountered two more feral cats as well. I was very disappointed in the front desk clerk's lack of any type of concern - he didn't even ask if my dog had been injured; he simply began accusing me of not telling them I was bringing a pet. I called hotels.com and reported the incident and they confirmed that my booking reservation clearly stated we were bringing a pet with us. I hear the tower rooms are renovated and in much better shape. I chose the 2 story lanai room b Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Service not very good - $21 nightly parking fee"
The hotel is really nice - we stayed in one of the rooms in the first floor so we could use the pool. the pool and the jacuzzi were great, clean and open 24 hours. Certain nights theere would be a party in the bar and there would be way too many people in the pool and jacuzzi. There is a nightly parking fee and there is not spaces outside the hotel […] to park. We had no WIFI in the room (we were told that there was a crew working on making sure the resort rooms had wifi in the future) we did have cable connection the first day but somehow it did not work the rest of the days. When we contacted the front desk, one of the the managers, Maria K. told us to come in the lobby to use internet whenever we needed, she didn't offer to have someone come look at it. We called later and a different manager did send someone to look at it but they couldn't fix it. We heard no apologies from them. The room itself was clean but it looked like they needed some updates, the toilet seat cover was yellowish and there was no water pressure in the sink , not even enough to wash your teeth, we were washing our hands in the tub. The location of the hotel was perfect very close to the beach and Las Olas Blvd. I never used it but I heard the hotel offers a free shuttle to the beach. the resort had a coin laundry on site which was really convenient for a vacationing family with children. Could have gotten the hotel for a cheaper rate, but by the time I saw the lower rate it was too late, (about eight hours too late) I would recommend the hotel, but just make sure it is comparable to other hotels at the time of booking, and watch for prices closely.
