I purchased two room rentals for a place to stay before our cruise. The place looks very run down and outdated. While checking in, the guy took our rental information so we could park there overnight. It didn't matter because in the morning there was a note on our car that it would be towed if it was not moved. We were trying to set up transportation […] to the cruise port, and the guy setting that up was extremely pushy. He was telling us to cancel our transportation with Carnival at the end of our cruise going back to the airport and use them. He used profanity and made us really uncomfortable. When we got into the rooms one of them never had proper working air. We decided to go for a swim and the pool was disgusting! After we got out we used some of the towels so we called to the office to get more brought up. After two phone calls, and almost an hour, we went to go get our own towels from the office. Our second room found a live bug in the tissue box, so that was gross! The free breakfast in the morning was a joke. You could pay five dollars for a hot breakfast, but it was disgusting and the couple that went down there warned us to go find our own breakfast when we took our rental car back. This place was a joke and not worth the money at all! If I had known this, I definitely would have paid the extra difference per room for a nicer, more comfortable hotel! I booked this hotel because of the free shuttle from the airport and to the port. I had to pay a taxi because the shuttle was so late going to the port. It costed me an extra $25,00 and I felt the hotel was overpriced in the first place. The bedding looked very old and I didn't want to sleep on it. The grounds were pretty. "Cruising"
We used this hotel as a one night, waiting to board a cruise - very common for this hotel. It is quite old, with a couple of failures attended to when we reported them. The hotel has a lot* of miles on it and in any other location would not be able to survive. The rooms were clean but the hotel is old. None of the outlets would hold anything plugged in to them. It was extremely annoying trying to get anything accomplished with an appliance. I can tell it was an older ramada hotel, and for the short stay that we were there, i was comfortable enough. However, i was looking forward to enjoying the 'night life' offered on the hotel grounds on friday nights on the hotel premises, only to find out the club was closed. my stay was only from thursday afternoon until sunday morning, so i was looking […] forward to this night life activity, especially since we decided not to rent a car. the room and bed was comfortable, and i loved the foliage decoration of the hotel grounds. but, regarding the pool area, i think the hotel should invest in repaving the pool concrete grounds, and invest in cushions and tables in the pool area. the breakfast was edible, but not deiicous. the desk staff was courteous, but i never saw more than i desk staff at the front desk, so checking in was a little slow, and we only had 2 guest in front of us. these remarks will hopefully help you to improve these things if possible, but i will say that i would stay at the hotel again, but only for a short stay like the one i just did. "Don't stay here!"
Anyone who rated this hotel at higher than a 2 must work there or be part owner. When we booked, the site said complimentary shuttle to airport, cruise port, and to area shopping. Well, we were picked up at the airport OK, but then we were stuck at the hotel for the rest of the day and almost all of the next day. NO places near this hotel to eat, shop. […] NOT close to ANYTHING and locked in by major highways. The shuttle, that had advertised would shuttle patrons within 3 mi radius of hotel, now only shuttles to one shopping center with very LIMITED shopping and ONLY dropping off at 3:30 with pick-up at 5:00. We showed up at the breakfast buffet at 9:45. Serving ended at 10:00. There was bread and a toaster on the buffet. No staff members anywhere to be seen in the restaurant or at the desk. When we did see staff members, that were short with us, and acted as if we were being a nuisance. There were signs all around the lobby, with instructions about shuttle, dining, shopping, etc. I feel that these were there because there was such a discrepancy between what was published on the site, and what the hotel REALLY had to offer. Our beds were made promptly after we left the room, however, they picked up our dirty towels, the left NO clean towels to replace them. When we asked for clean towels, they gave us 2. (There are 4 adults staying in the room). The only person I think that would feel good about staying here would be a person recently released from prison. As for me, I felt completely trapped! None of the three restaurants or the lounge were open. We were told that they were not busy and sorry for the inconvenience. Luckily there was a nice place to eat on the dock down the street, which we found on our own. The smoke detector was not working, there was no hot water, the bathroom door would not close, the ice machine was unplugged, the coffee […] maker had some piece of hardware in it, we had to ask for cups (none in the room), we had only two towels (so when we went to the pool (which was pleasant) we had nothing to dry off with after our cold shower.
