"Smoky"
Either the bed itself or the sheets reeked of stale smoke, and we were in a non-smoking room. We only picked this motel because it was cheap and we were only going to be there for a few hours (got in late, had to leave early for a race). Very old with no updates that I could see. The beds were not at all comfortable to my body and I am a very petite female. My husband felt the same way and he is a somewhat small man. Shampoo and one soap provided. No lid on the toilet. Only decaf coffee but a microwave and small fridge was a nice surprise. Very limited TV stations available. The housekeeping staff did a great job. The front desk staff did a good job. The condition of the room left a lot to be desired. There were cig. burn holes in the comforter. We were looking for a stop-over place, not a resort venue, and the Concorde Inn in Pekin IL was just perfect!! The hotel used to belong to another chain, and you can tell that they did their renovations with care and planning when the Concorde took it over. Advertised as Pekin's only 'full service' hotel, so choices were obviously limited. Our room was not updated; furniture was very worn, but bed was in good condition and comfortable, the room was very clean, and all plumbing etc. in excellent working order.
