We came to this area for a weekend King's Island trip. We only stayed one night in the Wingate but our stay was wonderful! "Comfortable Stay, but Maintenance Needed in Hotel"
This hotel opened recently, and is convenient to Wright State, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and the neighborhood of Fairborn, OH. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. We had some difficulty getting out luggage back to the car, because the luggage cart was broken at the top. It had been repaired with duct tape on one side; the tape was […] now split in half. The side opposite the duct tape repair was just swinging free of the overall cart structure, so no garment bags could be placed on the cart in a hanging manner. When we asked a staff member if another cart was available, or if the problem with the cart could be repaired, the staff member replied that the hotel "is very cheap, and they never fix anything around here." The staff member proceeded to inform us that rolling luggage carts cost several thousand dollars. Otherwise, the hotel was fine, and hot and cold foods were offered at breakfast. "Can hear noise from other rooms"
Not all Wingates are built alike. This one is not quiet. We could hear people speaking, toilets, phones and noise from surrounding rooms. The bathroom was insufficiently stocked (i.e., toilet paper). "too perfect for 2.5 starts hotel"

We had two problems with our stay.The first room we were in had only very hot water available for the tub, so they politely moved us to another room. When my husband tried to get on the wireless internet, it did not work . After about 45 min of back and forth discussion with the tech , it still did not work. We were pleased with this new Wingate Dayton-Fairborn! Very nice accommodations were spacious, clean and comfortable. Room included both a refrigerator and microwave. Breakfast included a nice variety of hot and cold items and a comfortable dining area in which to enjoy them. Pool and spa area was nice. Hotel is very nice and new. I think there is a leadership and professionalism issue with the management of the hotel. For instance, there was a very bad storm the night of our stay and we have an infant child, the manager of the hotel was parked under the canopy along with another employee due to the potential for hail I assume, so we could not unload […] under the canopy and had to run in during the storm with our child. Another time we needed to get some information at the desk and there was a sign posted that said busy helping another customer please wait for assistance. Turned out the manager was in the back office messing with his phone (did not seem to be business related, dont know that for sure). Like I say, the hotel was very clean and the room was great. We enjoyed our stay but I think there is an issue in the leadership and decision making that really did caused some inconvienence. Also we had some quarters to do some wash laying out and they went missing after our room was cleaned. Can't prove it was the person who serviced the room but we didn't move them. It was only a couple dollars and our fault for leaving them out. Just be sure to use the in room safe for anything valuable. Good advise for any hotel stay. All that being said I would recommend and would stay here again. Mainly due to the building itself not the service or the staff. The pool area is awesome and well maintained. We had a great time. The room was very clean, the pool was great for the kids. The hotel is within walking distance to many different restaurants. The only complaint we had, was it was very warm in the room. Granted we were there in March, but it was about 60 degrees outside, and with the hot water from the showers it made the room very warm. When we checked out, I mentioned to the desk clerk and she said they were coming the next afternoon to look at it. Was glad to know it wasn't just our room.
