Bathroom was dirty. Mildew in the shower. Hair on the floor from previous guests. Definitely could have does better at a different hotel for the cost of this one.

Compared to other hotels in Tuscaloosa, this Wingate is nicer. Other hotels "at this level" in the area are pretty run down and outdated but this hotel is updated and clean. First of all, I booked a hotel room for 4 people. We only had 3 towels in the room. I think it is rediculous to have to ask for "extra" towels when there aren't enough in the room for the number of people booked. Also, apparently the air conditioner was leaking because the carpet in front of it was soaked. It was late when we arrived at the hotel & […] we didn't notice the wet floor until we had unpacked our stuff. I was told that I would be in a room containing a king size bed with hardwood floors. I was given a room with carpet and told that expedia's review was wrong so they didnt offer even so much as an apology or a different room with hardwood floors even though I told them the reason I had booked with that hotel was because of allergies and I needed the […] hardwood floors. I was also not informed that there was only a shower in the bathroom. I would have liked the option to have a bathtub but like i said the management was not willing to accomodate me because he said that if i had booked through them instead of expedia I would be made aware of what I was getting. Wonderful hotel for the price and I love the ability to request hardwood floors. Great breakfast offered. Traveling with my puppy for the first time, I was also glad this hotel accepts pets. The only problem I experienced was the fragrance in the room---not certain if this was cleaning products or added fragrance---but on last stay had to change rooms […] and this stay the smell was not only in the room but in the hallway and lightly in the lobby. Being particularly sensitive to smells and allergic to many fragrances this is a real detraction for me. Read more

Noise from the interstate and within the hotel was excessive for a new facility. The air freshener in the a/c unit was nearly overwhelming. Hotel staff does not reset alarm clocks. Had a nicer experience at the nearby and comparably priced Courtyard Marriott. Otherwise, it is a clean/new hotel with a friendly staff.
