A lot of construction dust and noise greeted us. The staff was very nice. However, there is too much construction going on. The. Crew is not supervised sand their behavior was not something I like to have a around my family. They had conveniently flipped the curtain between construction area so wwhille they enjoyed the pool view while working, the guest […] enjoyed their stares and construction dust. Our partially gulf view was complemented with coonstruction trash container view and Augmented by joy riding workers using foul language. When booking this hotel, we were unaware that the swimming pool was undergoing major construction. As a result, only a small portion of the pool was open and to get to it you had to walk a long distance through a construction zone. It was loud during the day and the water pressure was minimal. Port Royal has an impressive entrance that gives the air of an international hotel. Unfortunately after you step inside it's disappointing. Even my 10 year old son said the lobby wasn't a "proper lobby". I understand that a beach location is going to experience certain wear due to the salt water, but things they could fix like standing water in the […] stair well have not been tended to. The room was nice, we had a view of the ocean, and the kitchen was well appointed for cooking except for the following: If you are going to have non-stick cookware, then provide plastic tools such as tongs and turning fork - the pans were quite scratched up. Another small thing that could have made the stay nicer is coffee mugs that hold more than 4 oz. The towels were thin and worn. When I went to the front desk to let them know we could not connect to the free Wi-Fi, the staff's explanation was: "Yeah, we just installed this new system and it's kinda come and go". So we didn't have Wi-Fi for two of the four days. It looks like when the pool renovation is complete, it's going to be a fun place for kids, but don't expect Port Royal to be any more royal than your average motel. Read more

Didnt know wha to expect. But when we arrived, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The parking was great and access to elevators and stairs great. The condo was spacious, clean, beautiful views off balcony, comfortable, and the maid service was great. It was one of the best stays we have had for a long weekend get away. We've been going to Port Royal since it opened. We loved it then and still love it. My kids were little back then, and now they all have little ones. And they all love it. We hadn't been there in a few years, and we're glad we went back.

Needed some updating. Our condo was big but needed to be cleaned better...carpets stained and rocking chair was not working properly. The dryer took 2+ hours to finish. But proximity to beach was great! We would have loved to use the slides ( we were told they would be available) Would like to come back when warmer. The pool/hotubs were nice and kept […] up.
