My reservation with hotels.com said that I get free in-room internet access but it was not included in the "standard room" according to the gal at the front desk. She also said that hotels.com should not have offered free internet access, that it was an "unfortunate mistake", ad infinitum, ad nauseam. And, what's the first thing you see when you walk […] in the room at the San Jose Doubletree? A 30 cent bottle of water for sale at the low, low price of $2.50. Yeah, thanks a lot, you've made me feel really bloody welcome. I think that players in the hotel business view paying customers as walking wallets to be fleeced at every turn. I think I'll just stay home from now on, travelling just ain't worth it anymore. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
When we arrived there were two conventions and no parking. We were forced to park in valet. We were exhausted from a day of training just drove in hoping to check in and have a relaxing evening and were faced with the parking situation. Needless to say we shouldn't have been charged for valet parking when staying as a guest. Very upset about that. In […] addition, there were no coffee makers in the rooms. This is unheard of these days. I expected much more from the Hilton family of hotels. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"not good"
In need of major renovations. Areas of hotel sectioned of due to water leaks. Booked a King bed, but upon arrival I all king rooms were gone and given a room with 2 queens. Parking is expensive. Musty smells in hallways. Decor dark and gloomy. Expecting much more from DoubleTree. Definitely not 4-star hotel. Closer to 2.5-3 stars. Very disappointing, […] would not recommend or stay again. "Will not stay again!"
I have stayed here before, but that was alright, so tried this time again and was not satisfied at all, came back to the hotel to sleep after we have already dropped off our luggage. Found out the bed had some nasty stuff on the sheet. Called front desk to change the sheet, and the person that changed the sheet drop all the pillows on the dirty floor. […] It was already past 12:30 am, we told him to just finish the sheet and leave so we could sleep. Also, the room smelled like smoke, didn't sleep well at all!! "Horrible. don't do it!"
The first 3 rooms had hair (from up top and down below) on the beds, pillows, and bathroom. After 2 1/2 hours and no help with luggage we were "upgraded" to an executive room. The only difference was it had a mimi fridge and microwave. Major fail!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"This is, at most, a 2 star hotel"
This place is disgusting! There was a broken lamp shade, a trash can that really needed replacement, damage to the room and bathroom door, some sort of dry splatter all over the doors, a huge buildup of dust and/or mold around the lighting fixture in the bathroom, the bottom side of the toilet seat was dirty, a brown lump of something on the heavy curtain […] and what looked like dried blood on the lite curtain, the desk chair was beaten up and the fabric was coming apart, dust build up on all the vents and light fixtures and the lotion bottle was previously used. To be fair, I called the front desk and asked for a supervisor to come see the room. She did offer to switch rooms, but I turned it down since it was going to be more effort than it was worth. She did however send up some cookies, breakfast vouchers and an apology note, which was thoughtful on her part and I give them credit for doing this but this still does not excuse the state of the hotel and the nickel-and-diming we put up with. Around the hotel I found wall paper coming off the walls, trays of dirty dishes that sat in front of rooms for over 24 hours, the men’s bathroom had wall paper taped up over a large rip in the wall and it was obvious that it had been there a while plus a piece of plywood on the ceiling. I find it absolutely absurd that one this place has a 4 star rating. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Disappointed"
Arrived to find out had to pay $18.00 a day for parking which was hard to find with a convention going on. Room was clean but molding missing around door and screws sticking out, tile in bathroom shower needed work, balcony door was hard to get open. At pool no towls available had to ask front desk for towels (this took a while). Dirty around pool area […] table we sat at had newspaper under one leg to keep it from wobbling. Have stayed at different hotels rated 4 stars and this did not compare. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bed Bug Alert"
I awoke late @ night to find a bug crawling on my blanket. When I squashed it there was quite a bloody mess. I jumped up and found more bed bugs under my pillow. EEK! The hotel staff relocated us to a different room but seemed so indifferent that I suspect this is not the first such occurrence there. Big nightmare trying to avoid bringing extra hotel […] guests (bed bugs) home with us. Discarded luggage. Hotel sent a security guard to our room to assist us with relocation to another room and while he was in our room he used our phone to respond to a complaint about a guest with a firearm! Also, $18 minimum daily fee to park your own car ($21 valet) and no in-room wifi service. We will not be returning to this hotel. Ever. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Disappointed overall"
Front desk hold music and some front desk staff tell of free parking. But other hotel staff at the front desk will tell you parking is not free and will not validate the ticket. The other issue I had is no complimentary breakfast of any kind. Not used to that as a frequent traveler. Otherwise the hotel is very nice and the rooms clean. Well except for […] the opened c wrapper under the bed. Sad but true. Minus that is was a clean and well laid out hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Terrible Customer Service"
Bottled water in room had been opened prior. Seals were broken. Called the front desk many times, but no answer. Finally called again, then got an answer. They came to the room to examined the bottles of water, and insisted that it was opened by us. We also called room service to order milk for our toddler, but they never showed up. We were very dissapointed. We […] had booked 2 nights, but only stayed one. We decided to leave due to the terrible service. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Do not go to the Doubletree hotel, San Jose airport"
When we arrived in our room, it was cold. We turned on the heat, but after and hour or so, it still was cold. We called the front desk and they sent maintenance. The fellow was very nice, but he had trouble trying to fix the problem. At this point we were there for over 2 hours. We asked for a new room which the hotel provided. This room was also cold. […] We turned up the heat, but it did not change anything. I turned the heat back down to 70 and it ran for over an hour but didn't heat up, indicating the room was somewhere in the 60's or less. We were there for only one night to relax and celebrate our renewal of wedding vows ceremony that day. We did not relax, but spent the time shivering. As a sidebar, the entire hotel, hallways, lobby, and restaurants, was cold. This hotel is advertised as a 4 start hotel. I've stayed at better 2 star hotels. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"bad room bad service"
Will never choose this hotel again. NEVER! 1. very high price, and no free wifi, no free packing, no free breakfast, even you already pay unfairly high price for the room (compared to the hotels in same area). 2. room is like a motel; 3. bad service, esp. at the front desk.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
