I've stayed at this property before. The staff and service are great. Very friendly as usual. I had complained on previous visits about the internet speed and they finally did something about it. The location of this hotel is great...close to 66 (you can see it from some rooms, but can't hear the traffic) and the Battlefield (you can walk there!). The reno on the hotel seemed like I could have done it - niceish fixtures but kind of questionable installation. Room was clean though. The two guys at the front desk were super! It was TERRIBLE. When I checked in I was assured there was internet connection in my room. After an hour of trying, the front desk suggested I come down to them so they could give me a key to move myself to a room on a higher floor where the signal might be stronger. I packed everything I had unpacked and had to call the front desk twice to get someone […] to come and help with my bags. The signal was no stronger in the room on the upper floor and only after an hour more with an outside IT expert was I finally online. By this time it was midnight and I still had 2 hours of work to do before I could get to sleep. "Not What We Expected"
After all, this is the Four Points by Sheraton in Northern Virginia... being a BIG Hampton Inn fan, not real sure what I expected but what we got was... - we were arriving early (1-1:30pm) and calling the main office befoer we left was told to call ahead 1-2 hours so a room would be ready - it wasn't. A room was hastily put together which was the room […] set aside for handicap (so what would they use for someone who was?) which was right down the hallway with tile aaalllll the way down - all night long was clackity-clackity of wheels going over the tiles - the pillows were awful, totally worn out - and if you sleep on the side of the bed right next to the window, the a/c unit is off-on all night and being right on the same level as, blows right into your face on-off-on-off. The hotel restaurant had excellent food but they were so short staffed they pulled people from the front desk to waitress - the two gals there were great but doing triple duty so dinner was a hour long affair.Think I'll go back to Hampton Inn where I know exactly what I'll get! I've been here on several different occasions for business. The people and service are great but I'm noticing a major flaw in their wifi system. The most recent stay had me scrambling back and forth from my room to the lobby for 3 days to get internet access. It's not that hard to get coverage throughout a property.
