We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Stephanie, who checked us in and helped with dinner reservations was amazing! She made our stay wonderful. The hotel is right in the middle of the shopping area and a short walk to the beach. The room we had was huge and very comfortable. hotel smelled musty which is a turn off for me. our room did not have any place to sit outside - some rooms has balcony or chairs in front of room - we had neither.

This was a pleasant hotel, the location is great, really close to downtown, everything in walking distance really. The bed was really comfortable, plus we had a sitting area and a fireplace. This was a great stay. The breakfast wasn't impressive but don't worry about that, the food is better at Miss Katy's a couple of blocks away. The location is perfect for a walk to anything you need. We really enjoyed this little find.

When I come back to Carmel, I'll definitely be staying at the Wayside Inn again. The room was clean, had some nice touches (fireplace, books to read) and the bed was super comfortable. The gardens around the inn are gorgeous, too! The other thing we really liked was the continental breakfast that's delivered to your door in the morning in a cooler - […] it was nice to be able to eat it in the room. The guy at the front desk was also very helpful upon check-in. He immediately offered to make us reservations for dinner if we needed them, and gave us three different options of good places to go in town. Even though we didn't go to any of the recommended spots, it was still nice to have the option. Overall, we had a great stay. I would definitely recommend this place - good price, location and has a small B&B feel but has the amenities of a hotel. Read more

This room was easliy booked on Hotels.com and we just showed up for a wonderful long weekend. The ONLY downside was the lack of parking spaces, but I guess that's Carmel for you! Rooms are comfortable but dark. Arrived late. Discovered not enough parking spaces for all guests. You can park two blocks away but it is not guarded. I had to park in the street which has 2 hour limit from 8 AM to 10 PM, then get up and move car. Happened three times in four nights. Some staff are very helpful and some are just short of surly. If you […] want tea for your in room coffee machine, you must ask every day and receive 2 containers. Coffee is no problem. Breakfast brought to your room every day in thermo bag, but consists of rolls, fruit and cereal. Bad for losing weight and worse for diabetics. I asked them not to bring every day in order not to waste food we could not eat. They brought anyway as staff takes home the leftovers. Nice location - if they had parking. Read more
