Parking was a joke! Went to check out at 7:30 AM and office was closed. The room had many conflicting odors that were difficult to take. The hotel was pretty cheap compared to others in the area and it is in a good location on the Killington access road so for that I would recommend it. However, our room was not very clean - toilet was dirty and rubbish was left in the cupboards from the previous occupants. The breakfast was very basic and the dining tables were also very dirty. This is a no-frills motel experience...okay if you don't want to spend alot of money on lodging. In my reservation, I requested handicapped access for my Dad. Expedia was supposed to call to set up this handicapped access. Hillside Inn said Expedia never confirmed handicapped access and gave us a room on the second floor. Inn was completely booked and […] there were no other rooms available on first floor. In addition, parking is so bad! We parked in the handicap spot the first day, but the second day, someone else had parked there...who did not have a handicapped placard or license plate. We notified the owners of the Inn who said they would call the owners of the vehicle. The cars were never moved and were still there the next morning. According to VT state police, it is the hotel owners responsibility to call a tow truck to remove the vehicle. This was not done. You have to go to the office for any extras that you need: pillows, soap, TP, tissues. No one will bring these items to you...even when the cleaning staff forgets to replace the empty toilet paper rolls in your bathroom. In addition, we couldn't make coffee in our room as a piece was missing from the coffee maker. Continental breakfast was nice, however, we clearly annoyed the female owner by putting 4 chairs together at one table so our family could eat together. The heat control is not in the room - it was a bit chilly. Towels were scarce - we had to ask for more & they did give us more towels, soap, shampoo. Next to us was a overcrowded room full of boarders - they were extremely loud all night. The breakfast - coffee was scarce - no decaf. While we got a pretty good deal for the price, the hotel was almost completely deserted except for the last night (the website said that the rooms were soundproofed and they definitely weren't). We were disappointed that there wasn't an oven/stove like it said there would be and we never found the arcade/game room that was listed on the website. Pros: Clean and well maintained Offered a breakfast Quiet Cons: Guy running the front desk was kinda weird and he would sit in the office in the morning while we had breakfast and make loud phone calls. He would also sit in the parking lot on a lawn chair and wait for people to leave their rooms to open the office door for breakfast rather than just leaving it unlocked or sitting in the office like any other normal hotel. Breakfast was REALLY minimal. Mini-bagels, danish, slices of white bread, orange juice, two types of cereal (somewhat stale), milk, muffins, and coffee/cocoa. None of it was fresh. Nothing fresh offered. The last night, we found it difficult to sleep due to the noise from the room next to ours. Given that it was the off season, you'd think they'd be able to spread people out more so that wouldn't happen. All in all, it wasn't terrible. Overall it's a good place to stay, especially if you're on a budget. We were pretty happy with this place, except for a few things. One is the flies that were in our room when we just entered (in the end of January!). There were about 6 of them, very much alive and flying around the room. Pretty creepy, I should say. This hotel is perfect if you just need a place to crash after a long day of skiing or hiking. It is reasonably priced, but you pay for what you get.
