Situated southeast of downtown, this area’s funky cafés, secondhand shops, and record stores make for an engaging stroll. "worst experience ever"
My business made arrangements with the manager to pay for my room after I had booked it online. The manager agreed to credit my account and then give the same rate for two extra days to my employer. Instead they double billed for the room charging me and the employer siting that the room was more expensive because I requested nonsmoking. What a scam. […] I will never darken the doorway of an econolodge again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Never Again"
Staying from Oct 6 - Oct 8. After a long day drive and activities (totaling 18 hours), we checked in at around 11:00pm. The attendant (possibly the owner) dressed in his pajamas came out to greet and handed me the room key. We have reserved a 2 Queen Suite, the room was dark even with all the lights on. The general condition was old, carpet was old, […] decor was old, beds were old, everything just seems old. There were two TVs, one by the sitting room, another by the sleeping area. There was a microwave and a small fridge. No utensils or any other kitchen wares. After settling in, we called the reception (around 11:25pm) and trying to get an extra blanket and pillow. The same attendant picked-up the call after a few rings and he simply said, we are closed, come to the reception tomorrow morning for the blanket and pillows. I know this is Econo Lodge, but still, I want to sleep now, not tomorrow morning. When I went to pick-up the blanket in the morning, the same attendant (this is why I think he is the owner) ask me to go into their supplies room (behind the reception desk) to pick up the blanket and pillow. He can't even bring it out to the reception desk. At the same time, he kept on asking me whether we needed our room clean. They don't even want to clean up the room!! Another problem is that their doors are too heavy and their walls are too thin. Whenever someone walk in/out of their room, the door will just slam shut and the whole building shake. "READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING"
My husband & I stayed 1 night to visit with an old friend that my husband hadn't seen in 30 years. We all met for dinner at around 6:30 pm and returned to the hotel room at around 11:00 pm to talk. No sooner than we got into the room, the front desk person (Nash) called and said "You have another person in your room and there will be an additional $10.00 […] charge for him to stay the night." When I explained this was an old friend who was just visiting with us, Nash said, "We don't allow visitors after 8:00 pm." As I was explaining this to my husband and friend, Nash said, "Is he staying or not? I want to know.". I explained that my husband and friend would come to the office to speak with him and Nash said, "Okay, I'LL BE WATCHING." My husband and our friend went downstairs to the office where our friend presented his drivers license to prove he lived within 1 mile of the hotel. Upon returning to the hotel room, I got another phone call from Nash who said, "Okay he can stay but only for 40 minutes." I've asked a number of friends about the visitation time limit and they all said they had never heard of such a thing in any hotel. I will NOT stay at an Econo Lodge again and will NOT provide a recommendation for this chain to anyone!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
