"Sadness by the ocean"
This hotel is a complete fail house. There were holes in the wall, mold on the ceiling, no lid on the back of the toilet, a broken security bar on the door, and significant stains on the sheets of the mattress. On top of this there was no working lock on the 'lobby' door, which meant that anyone could come or go from the building. Now I like a dive […] motel, and have stayed at a lot of those such places, but this by far has to be the worst I've ever been to. Additionally, we were going to a conference that weekend, and this was an 11pm check in for us. The staff was rude, and seemed to be upset that we were bothering them at all. Then the next day the lobby guest staff was calling guests to give them complimentry gifts for staying that day, yet when I asked if we could get one of the cheap little coupon books for having stayed, I was told that it was only for people staying at the 'resort' overnight, despite having paid for a full night already. The only redeeming quality was the fact that this place was right on the beach. Even the bar was closed in the mid afternoon when we were there. I wouldn't stay there again if you paid me. "The worse experience ever!"
The hotel was so filthy, it smelled dirty since we got it the lobby, the room smelled like dirt also it was so old, the bathroom was disgusting, didn't want to use the toilet, the bathtub was al rusted, had to take a shower with flip flops and the water didn't drain, the water was all packed up!!! "Only if desperate for the beach"
I suppose for the cost it wasn't that bad. However you might be better off renting an apartment for the same price which is what we ended up doing. We stayed during march so of course there were loud and drunk teenagers playing terrible music by the pool; the walls were paper thin and you could hear them, and someone's dog the entire night. As far as […] the room goes it was alright, there was some loose carpeting which I tripped on. Also the shower drain was covered in rust and looked very dirty. The cleaning arrives early, since we were still sleeping I told the women we didn't need her service and gave her our dirty towels, she said she would come back with clean ones but never did. On anther occasion there was no knock and the cleaning woman opened our door completely while we were still sleeping. "Hotel in terrible condition"
We booked a beachfront room. Upon arrival, we were told beachfront was sold out. Another clerk pointed out a room beachside that was available and when we got to the room, we found a present in the toilet. My husband attempted to flush it and the toilet would not flush. Called front desk, asked for another room. Once we arrived at the front desk, they […] offered for the maintenance man to look at the toilet. Obviously the bathroom had not been cleaned or someone may have noticed the toilet. So we took a room on the first floor of the main building. No remote for tv, no towels, and most of the furniture was beat up and falling apart. The exterior doors leading outside never lock (so security is nil). The shower was also a mess, within 2 minutes of my shower I was standing in murky water up to my ankles. Both buildings are in bad condition as were both rooms we saw, plus the lobby. "DISGUST"
first of all HOTEL.com ran a fraudalent charge on my credit card that i booked my trip with for another in a different state for $$ which took a week to get refunded to my bank account NOT HAPPY about that to say the least..then the hotel was supposed to be beach front and i ended up in the building with a parking lot view..URGH and here it gets worse […] the room had holes in the ceiling from the ac unit above us with water stains mold all around it..as soon as i got home i had to go to the drs since i developed a sinus infection so out another $$...then absolutely NO TOWELS in the whole hotel which i later learned after i researched their ratings is the norm for them..we we told at check in an hour for them..after touring the city and walking on the beach i returned to our room at midnight to find STILL no towels i had to demand to speak to a manager who wasnt even on premises to be able to get TWO towels and by that i mean ONE facecloth and ONE body towel for two adults....REALLLY?? third world countries have better hospitality then this...i probably was better off at a hostel...SOOO disappointed for a weekend i had planned with the hubby for our anniversary...o and the continental breakfast from 8-10 by 8:23 was a sad display of three apples, two danishes that had the wrappers a lil opened and looked like someone had poked at it, and weak coffee. "Close to pier"
Room was not very clean. Security lock was missing from door. There were no towels in room upon arrival. It took 4 phone calls to front desk to get towels delivered and they did not come until 8:00 pm. No wash cloths or hand towels either. The actual rooms we were transferred to twice never looked anything like the photos in the add. We were disappointed. After our second room transfer we were alerted that we had to vacate and relocate hotels all together. "Lauderdale Beachside Hotel"
1st off this is a Hotel type (room doors open to central hallway) inn and in that respect is the review. The pros are it had amenities now expected; bed, bath, tv, microwave, frig, wifi, key-card doors & breakfast. Plus pool (but why, the beach is just a few few away). This appears to be an older inn, kept up fairly well (some things new or refurbished […] & somethings in need of). Comfy bed (if you can't sleep why stay?). Breakfast was cereals, pastries, juices & coffee. Above all was the access to the beach - just great. Had a great time there. The beachside building had no staff and was across the street from the main building with prices fantastic for the location. The cons maybe was that breakfast was in just a couple of rooms in the main building which could've been fixed up a little better. Only 1 ice machine worked in the beachside building which was on the 5th floor. Particular to our room was the patio door handle was missing leaving a open hole. Still would stay again. "Lauderdale Beachside"
Hotel was disgusting! just walking into the lobby..the smell of urine and air freshner. The room was dirty and smelly. The tub was so dirty we didn't want to use it. "Will not return"
The hotel is very old and it seems that the owners do nothing to maintain it at a correct level. Always had the impression that everthing was dirty (carpet, dining room, pool, etc.). The service at the reception was very poor as there was only one employee and she had to respond to all complaints about other customers. We had to wait a long time to […] be served (nothing to say about the employee - she did the best she could to satisfy everyone. We reserved 2 rooms. In one of the room there was no phone, the balcony was discusting (cigarettes on the floor) a lot of rust on the fridge, bath, toilet, etc.). "Direkt am Strand gelegenes Hotel mit wenig Komfort"
Wir machten eine Woche Urlaub in der zweiten Märzwoche 2011. Beim einchecken fand die Rezeptionistin unsere Buchung nicht. Nach 15 Min. konnten wir dann endlich einchecken! Die Zimmer sind für die ein oder andere Übernachtung okay. Die Bettdecken waren sehr fleckig und hatten keinen Bettbezug! Die vorhandene Klimaanlage ist sehr laut. Das Bad ist bis […] auf die Wanne okay. In die wann sind wir nur zum Duschen, und das mit Badeschlappen, da diese sehr dreckig und teilweise schon gelb war. An zwei Tagen bekamen wir keine neuen Handtücher und an einem Tag wurde das Zimmer erst garnicht gereinigt! Nchts war es teilweise sehr laut auf den Fluren, so dass man eigentlich immer aufwachte.
