"renovation not quite completed"
If you are used to 1 room only then you will appreciate the extra living room kitchenette area. The hotel did major renovation and is very clean, appliances are all new but they didn't address the windows or the A/C system. There is a moldy smell in the whole hotel .The windows are from the 1950's and open with a tourniquet, none of the windows would […] close shut. We had to put pillows to muffle the outside noise and try to insulate the room. The a/c is a noisy wall unit which blast the bedroom with cold air but leaves the rest of the place warm.No screens on back windows so mosquitoes heaven in summer for sure.There was a mistake on the bill at check out time and they charged me for a pet staying in the room when we don't even have one.This issue is still not solved . "Mostly a great stay."
The outside needs some updating and we kept having a problem with our room keys. We literally had about 15-20 new keys made for a 5 day stay. We aren't sure why our keys kept getting de-activated but they were really nice at the desk. Another problem was, the website stated we were getting a 2 bedroom 2 bath, so we assumed it would be 2 full baths including […] a shower. We had only 1 shower for 6 people, so it was inconvenient but manageable. We were also not as close to the actual beach as we thought we would be. The positives.. The interior of the rooms were really nice, clean and updated. The staff was very accommodating and friendly; They also gave us some great tips for attractions and dining and provided us with the name & number of a free taxi company (they work for tips). The breakfast was good, as there were quite a few options; They had snacks available also for purchase. Overall it was a very great stay for they money. great location. close to the beach, shopping and restaurants. the living room/kitchen were very clean and functional. basic cookware and service for four included. were really liked the double vanities (one in the bathroom and one just outside of the bathroom) it allowed us to get ready much faster than in a traditional bathroom configuration. the […] bed was clean and quite comfortable for a hotel. however, the bedroom carpeting did show its age and there was some staining. however, the hotel is in the process of a room to room renovation (at least that is what the sign at the front desk indicated). the continental breakfast is provided in the lobby. coffee, tea, milk and juice in small bottles. individual warped danish and little bowls of cereal. it was not gourmet but it was still good. the pool area was clean and enjoyable. the water was nice and warm. for those that wanted to sit in the sun, there is room to do so yet there is some shady spots as the day progressed. we stayed in room 210 and would definitely recommend it to others. if we were to return to sarasota, we would stay here again. "Great Set-up and Value for the Family!"
This Inn/Motel was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. The room was exactly as described. Full kitchen was supplied with dishes/utensils and perfect for our week long stay. The staff not only cleaned the bathroom and made beds but they did the dishes as well. Nice king size bed with door to close off from living area with sofa/loveseat/and chair. […] Sofa folds out to full size bed perfect for 2 kids age 15 & under. Flat screen TV's in both rooms, great when dad wants news and kids want a movie! There was a bonus sink/vanity area which was great when someone was in the shower and mom wanted to do her hair/make-up. Continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise here with a good variety. As for service - GREAT! We had an issue with a broken ceiling fan and it was fixed immediately by the staff installing a brand new ceiling fan the same day - WOW!
