"Nice Neighborhood, OK Hotel"
The hotel needs updating. The wall in the shower has cracked paint. The carpet is old and a little smelly. Furniture is dated 1990's? Service was okay, I cooked which was nice to be able to do. The Sonesta ES is a former staybridge and they kept the staybridge amenities and traditions alive and well. The staff is outstanding and really make this place standout. The deteriorating condition of the hotel and unusable internet connection hurt what could be a fantastic property. Room had mold on the roof of the kitchen, the kitchen corner and in the bathroom. Multiple noise complaints the last night from a bunch of high school age kids haveing a party in the room above us. The facility is in a good location but is definitely showing its age. The room was clean and comfortable but the flooring, tub and fixtures in the bathroom were significantly worn and should be replaced. The hotel was in a great location though I missed it at first. It is not well marked. Te room was a nice size but needs some upgrades. The TV is old and not a flat screen. The internet was so slow it hardly could be used. Carpet should be replaced. "Good location but I won't stay here again..."
My overall opinion of the hotel was "good". The hotel room was clean, however I asked for a non-smoking room and didn't receive it. I am a business traveler, so obviously I need proper internet connection. I was unable to do any work during my stay. The internet was 56kps, that is what I would expect 10 to 15 years ago. Internet did not work consitently, the entire stay. the story given was that they had just changed affiliations and did not realize that their service was through their prior franchise. it got cut off and they were having difficulty getting restarted with sufficient bandwith to do anyting of substance. "Good location - Horrible Hotel Service"
Being that I was visiting my sister who is ill, I could have done without the negatives of this hotel. Read on . . . I checked in a little before midnight on 10/12. Received my room keys, headed straight for the restroom in my room after a 6 hour drive. Negative #1 - i walk in to find urine all over the toilet seat as well as on the floor (still fresh). […] I call the front desk and I am told that all of the housekeeping personnel have left for the day and that it would have to wait until tomorrow. I continue to argue with them at which point they tell me "well you can just wipe it off with a towel". I ask for a room change and they tell me there are no rooms available (parking lot is almost empty, but somehow they say they are fully booked). It seems as if the only problem is that they don't want to go through the trouble of transferring my reservation to another room. After appx 10 min of arguing, the other front desk clerk offers to go and clean it himself. Next day 10/13. We leave the room to take care of business with my family. Negative #2 - We show up at about 5pm someone (housekeeping) has placed the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door. I was the last to leave the room i KNOW that I did not leave that sign on my door. I walk in to find everything as we left it in the morning. I call again to the front desk and luckily I caught the housekeeping ladies before they left. They came and cleaned up the room. "Poor service"
I reserved a two bedroom suite and upon check in I was told that all they had available was a one bedroom unit because the unit that I had reserved was not clean because housekeeping had already left and that the room would be avaiable the next morning. We waited until 1:00 the next afternoon after not recieving a call that our room was ready and was […] then told that it would be 15 min. more minutes. Well that went on until 3:30. We lost half a day because the staff was not truthful regarding the status of the room. No excuse for dishonesty! The breakfast was mediocre at best...we were told that breakfast on the weekends would be served until 10:00 am... we came down at 9:30 only to find that most of the breakfast was empty and that they were starting to close it down instead of refilling the pans...leaving several of the guests scrapping for the remnants and leaving with disgusted comments. Although the hotel was ok, I was very disappointed with the booking agent at Hotels.com for not mentioning that I might NOT get the room I was booking. I booked with specific needs for the beds and got there and found I would only have one bed -- they eventually got this fixed for me after a great deal of pressure. Hotels.com did not forward my Priority […] Club membership number to the hotel as I had advised them. Hotels.com did not advise me that the hotel had just been sold (and that most of the cleaning staff had quit). Couldn't get into a room until after 7:00pm on the day I checked in. The desk clerk had to go and clean a room for our group. Once we finally got into the room, the stay was good, and everything was as expected.
