My experience could have been better. There was a shortage of parking spaces within the hotel grounds. Fortunately it was aSunday so I could park on the street at no cost but otherwise it was not good. I also experienced a noise problem in the room as there was a whirring sound that was like a clothes dryer that kept me up most of the night. "Hotel ok, but room was nasty."
The hotel was nice when we checked in. Got to the room and everything was as expected. I took a shower and layed in the bed, whic was worn out. I was walking about in the room from the desk to the bed and so forth. I started feeling a burning sensation on my feet, like athletes foot was setting in. When I looked at my feet they were totally black on […] the soles. Keep in mind, I just took a shower and walked on the floor back and forth in the room and the nasty carpet made my feet black. That freaked me out so I put socks on, and after walking around for a while my socks were black to!!! I've heard of dirty floors, but this is unacceptable. Plus, the part of town we were in, there are signs in the parking lot that say "do not leave valuable in your car" and "not responsible for theft". I asked a local cop who was at the hotel for another reason, and he told me to remove anything that wasn't bolted down or it would get stolen. Apparently the have had this problem numerous times. Even though the Hotel is advertised as being the Holiday Inn near the Downtown convention center it is in a bad location. There are no restaurants, bars or food establishments in the nearby area. Hotel has good breakfast, clean rooms, bed is very comfortable. The hotel staff is courteous, but they are too comfortable working in hotel. The hotel staff eats breakfast and I saw them letting other people come in hotel, use services, and eat breakfast. The breakfast is so good that people who do not stay at the hotel come in and enjoy the buffet. […] I have two complaints: the a/c unit is too loud (sounds like a humming machine), and hotel carpet is very dirty (travel with your house shoes). My son vomitted on floor and they did not do anything to clean floor besides vacuum and spray smell good spray (that is disgusting). Other wise the hotel is fine and I like design of rooms. There was lots of reviews about breakfast, that is great and good, well it didn't at all! It doesn't compaire "real" hotels breakfast at all. Just few things and that's it. No bacon and eggs, nothing! The cleaning lady was spraying somekind of scent all over the place and it was horrible. You can spend night in this hotel, but really don't recommend […] it to families.
