I should have known from the moment I was greeted that the experience would be awful. Austin, the manager on duty had tatoos on his hands, dirty hands and a black eye. Front desk staff is not very friendly. We had trouble getting our room cleaned. We were out of our room from 9:30 until 3:30 and it still hadn't been cleaned. Maids came when I was in the shower and I asked them to come back. They said they are going home. "It's now or not at all." I called the front desk. He said they had a lot of rooms to clean and […] didn't get to ours and they were going home soon. Really!!!??? Breakfast was "ok"...Instant oatmeal and stale muffins but the waffle maker was good. It was a last minute booking via Expedia, and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the information (and payment) was passed to the Front of House staff at checkin. The room and lobby were very clean, and the facilities were easy to find. I was not familiar with Houston itself, but the location of the hotel seemed to be very central, especially to the Galleria area.
