"Close to Hobby"
I was staying overnight to catch an early am flight out of Hobby Airport. At checkin the desk clerk took three tries to get a key that actually worked to open the door. "As Always an Extremely Satisfied Drury Foregoer!"
The hotel staff were very friendly and my room was nice and cozy. The bed was soft and plush and very comfortable. The air kept my room worked precisely as expected. The breakfast was good however on the repetitive side. Could use some variety from day to day, but all in all good. The 5:30 kickback was convenient if you do not wish to venture out for […] dinner at another venue. The location of the hotel was niether thrilling nor appauling. The neighborhood was not a slum however it is not conveniently located near any good restaurants or entertainment or shopping facilities. Other than that I enjoyed my stay very much. "Fantastic Staff, but Dreary Inn"
The staff was absolutely fantastic. I wanted to say that right off. Everyone was friendly and efficient. Be Aware: The "Free Airport Transportation" is NOT a shuttle, but reimbursement of your taxi bill. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is pretty worn down. The carpet in my room didn't appear very clean, and they still use bedspreads, inspite of the […] industry moving away from the filth encrusted things. The evening appetizers were unappealing, I was only able to eat a few bites. Even my drink was made with possibly the worst ingredients ever. I had three free drinks, and didn't finish the first. Breakfast was OK, with the hot waffle maker you see at many other hot buffet style hotels. It was low cost, but not enough to justify the Interstate front location (farthest from the Airport of any of the other Hobby Airport locations) and run down, dank and dreary experience. I had never stayed in a Drury Inn but picked it because it is close to the airport. The hotel itself is not brand new but I got over that quickly because of all the other bonuses. The staff - every person I encountered! - was super friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. The breakfast is REAL food, not that pre-formed […] heated mystery breakfast that the bigger chains serve. They also give you free internet, a free hour of long distance in the evening, and they have a evening snack bar. All of this is included in the room rate which was extremely affordable. I found this hotel on Hotels.com and chose it after reading many positive reviews. I was surprised that Hotels.com has a policy that forbids receiving points from the hotel loyalty programs out there, but the savings here were more than worth it. The "Kickback" every night was delicious! Chicken strips, nachos/salsa, hot dogs, etc., free drinks...can't […] beat it! I stay in hotels 5 nights weekly and I now use the Drury Inn as my choice in So. Houston. The hotel room was clean, although I wish the A/C had been able to get colder. Houston is a very humid city, so a cold air conditioner is essential. If not, then the a/c should have a "Fan" option that allows continuous air movement if desired. Other than that, I had a great time at this hotel and would heartily recommend it to anyone staying in this area. Spent one night at the Drury at Hobby Airport in Houston. Hotel was clean. Staff was friendly. Hotel is not even 5 minutes from airport. Overnight parking is free and gated and requires a code to exit. Did not have hotel breakfast, but did have evening "kickback".
