I had read some reviews and had an idea of what to expect. I chose this hotel for its location convenient to some meetings I had, and it was definitely a better deal than the more expensive places. The "continental breakfast" was substantial, including boiled eggs, yogurt, juice, cereal, toast, etc. -- significantly more than the coffee and pastry some hotels call breakfast.. Right next to a noisy freeway but very well insulated so did not hear a thing! Easy access to events in Houston and one can walk to Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church if that is your thing. Staff perfectly nice. Great value for the money.

I booked this hotel with some trepidation because of the price. Usually, you get what you pay for and low rates mean, "Don't expect much." I was pleasantly surprised. Although this hotel is not a five star, it is well maintained. The employees were nice and efficient. The hotel is older, but not rundown. The hotel was older and showed signs of wear. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I would avoid getting a room on the freeway side, because they were very noisy. Breakfast was disappointing. The only eggs were boiled. No oatmeal the second day of our stay. Next time I will spend more money and stay at a nicer hotel.

The location and room rate were reasonable, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was friendly and responsive to requests. The free breakfast is pretty good, but gets boring after 2 days. Our tub drain was practically stopped up when we first used the shower, causing us to stand in ankle-deep water; when we reported this, they had maintenance in the room fixing it within 30 minutes, and we had no further troubles with it. The room did have a musty smell, and an ashtray on the table even though it was supposedly a non-smoking room. They removed the ashtray and presumably ran an ozone machine to freshen the air, but that didn't really help. My wife and i were visiting Lakewood church and searched for the closest hotel. La quinta has allways been good to us over the years so we decided to stay. the hotel is very outdated and seems a bit dirty. staff was great but it doesnt mean alot when the hotel seems like its falling apart.

The lobby of the hotel was nice but the rest of te hotel was just 'fair' in cleanliness and upkeep. For the reduced fair at hotels.com you are places not in the main building but rather in the outer rooms accessible to the parking lot which is either toward the freeway or sketchy neighborhood surrounding.

The minute i walk in the hotel it has a very nice feel. The receptionist were very friendly and efficient. I was pleasantly surprised by the room's interior and furniture, almost every amenities is in place inside and out side the room, add a microwave oven to that..That's out standing. Very Good.!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Condition of hotel was mediocre. Showerhead was coming out of wall. Hot water temperature fluctuated. Upon first arriving, there was a lot of trash in the back parking area. Continental breakfast was good.

Well located for where I needed to go. As another reviewer warned, the hotel entrance is very close to the exit ramp so be prepared to switch lanes quickly. Room and common area of the hotel were clean and the price was reasonable.

My stay was horrible. The AC was broken and the best they could do to help us with that was give us a tiny old dusty fan. The pool was closed the first two nights because of a broken light. And the room service was absolutely horrible.. We must've tried getting more clean towels some 4 or 5 times and they forgot about us EVERY SINGLE TIME. Staff was extremely helpful with anything we asked or needed. We were looking for someplace local to eat at and they provided us with a list of restaurants(addresses and phone numbers included). I went downstairs to ask if she would scratch out any that were overly formal(high), or just not good places to go and she took the time to do that for me. […] It is very conveniently located, 5 minutes from the galleria, 10 minutes from the zoo or the hmns area. Very easy to get too and from. If you forgot anything, there is a shopping center just a couple of minutes away. My only complaint would be the sink is located inside the bathroom. Blood stains on the bed sheets, and stinky shower with no Internet connection in my room even after i called them several time. Their answer was pretty much there is nothing they can do, and that if the internet is working by the front desk then i can leave the "comfort" of my room to check my emails in the other building.

Location, parking and access are the best features of the La Quinta and make it an OK place to stay. When the lower end of daily cost is not available, I select another hotel. The hotel itself is old with many of the problems of an old hotel such as hot water changing to cold while in the shower.

We live in Houston and needed a temporary place to stay, and this was perfect. Not just because they accommodated our dog either! For visitors, the location is very convenient, with access to the Museums, Sports Venues, and all major highways. The hotel itself was very comfortable, and the breakfast was good.
